Wow what a trip! I'm sorry I haven't been around. I really didn't want to be one of those that gets done with the interview then abandons the site! We've been so busy!

We arrived home around midnight last Thursday (9th) It was a crazy three day drive, most of which was done on Mr. Sheeshka's birthday. Weand had to deal with issues and get everything unpacked and find where to put it. Our closet and shelf space is definitely unequal, and I'm not on the winning side lol.

Here is our POE review: Emerson/Pembina Crossing

Today Mr. Sheeshka's Social Security Card arrived in the mail. It surprised us both. He still hasn't received the welcome to the USA letter yet! Tomorrow we're going to the DMV to get his Tennessee license and to register his motorcycle. I had to get my license renewed on Friday, and we asked then what was needed for him to get his license and the woman had no clue. I printed off the list of things needed from the state DMV site. I'll be sure to post about that fiasco!

6/8/11~ Mailed I-130 Application, withdrew Canadian PR application
6/16/11~ NOA1 email and text message Case routed to CSC (Priority Date)
7/12/11~ The 'Money Order' Incident/Returned to Tennessee
8/03/11~ TOUCHED!

NVC Electronic Processing- Montreal- 19 Days

3/21/12~ Received case number & IIN 20 Days after NOA2

ROC: NOA1 11-7-14; Biometrics 12-1-14; 10-yr Green cards ordered 4-13-15! (157 days total)

Congratulations and wow - what a POE experience. I'm so sorry you got that hassle. Sounds like the first officer really was inexperienced as well as a jerk.

I PoE'd through Pembina/Emerson with my K-1 back in 2009. I feel for you - they don't seem to have a real good grasp on visa processes [or customer service!] there. I didn't get as many questions as you did, but the ones I got were quite pointed. On top of that they didn't want to import my car - no reason not to, they just didn't want to be bothered.

There's no feeling in the world quite like the relief you get having cleared the border after a long sit at the PoE, is there? :D

Congrats! Must feel so nice to finally get home and relax a little. I intend to take a couple of weeks off before starting work when I move. I know things are going to be so hectic with everything that has to be switched over. Address change, driver's license change, social security, etc..

Glad to read you're finally settling in!! :-) Good luck on your new life!

I was wondering if you were back in the US yet. Glad you both finally got here even if they made it difficult. We crossed at Eastport (BC/Idaho) and the female dealing with me was nice but the guy dealing with my husband for the re-import of the car was one of those I'm more powerful than you types. Did a change of address at POE and my green card was sent to the correct address which was a relief.

Finally moving into our house tomorrow. The weather and scenery are a little different from Calgary!

I needed to have a drivers abstract from Ontario that was less than 30 days old for my TN license
