Hi folks.

So fiance and I applied for K1 visa 6 months ago so far we can't get an answer from USCIS.

Got NO1 on January 24, 2012. We were assigned to Vermont office. I registered an account on USCIS site to monitor progress of the case. on February 09, 2012 the case was updated. We got pretty excited and rushed to get the rest of our papers in order. Processing time for Vermont is 5 months so we were waiting and waiting. 5 month past and nothing changes our case is still in Initial Review. I called main USCIS number and asked whats going on? They didn't know and said I can file request status of this service only 15 days after 5 months from NO1 passed. Fine I wait till July 10, 2012 and file for status of this service request with main USCIS office.

Today, 9 days later I get email: "Your case is currently under review. You should receive a decision or notice of other action within 60 days of the date of this letter."

Another 60 days puts us in September which is 9 months since filing our paperwork. Plus no one said that we will be approved in September. We can't move on with our lives. We have followed all instructions to the t and still getting shafted here. If I knew it would take so long I would have applied for K-3. What can we do at this point? What should be our plan of action? We have been very patient but now I feel like is time for action.

What do you suggest we do folks?

Sadly, you will likely get the same response from those other sources, and more time will have passed when (and if) they do respond. :clock: It looks like the service centers are adjudicating at a glacial pace. Maybe it is a summer lull? Last year it was the WAC that was slower than the EAC, now it is the other way around....go figure.

To the OP: As others have mentioned..... :time: It helps everyone that uses this site.

Hang in there! The end result makes all of this worth it!

I know it hurts to hear this from others farther along than you, but there is no plan of action that can be taken. service requests wont expedite your case, nor will calling and arguing with the service centers. If they say 6-7 months, then its 6-7 months. I come on VisaJourney everyday and have seen so many different attempts from memebers to get their application approved faster, unfortunatly none have worked. There is no choice but to sit back and wait patiently until its your turn.
