I currently work for a Staffing Agency as a Full Time Employee. Unfortunately my Employer is unwilling to sign an Employment Verification Letter for me. They provide a website "theworknumber.com" to provide my verification. When I tried to access this website I found that whoever uses this site to verify me will have to sign up and pay a service fee. I have a feeling that the US Embassy in Manila will not use this website.

My concern is will this affect my K-1 Visa Application? How important is this specific letter. I have plenty of pay stubs that I can turn in. Do I need to find a job that is willing to provide this letter?

Thank you all for your help,

-Troy B

The pay-stubs are your proof. Because frankly anyone can type up an employment letter. Just have your pay-stubs that show total year to date totals and you are good to go.

On theworknumber.com, there is an employment verification for immigration purposes link when you, the employee, log in. These shows your company, your position, hire date, how much you make each year since you started there, and some employment information. You can print that out.

I'm a federal employee and have the same problem. "The Work Number" is my only option for employment verification. I am just including plenty of paystubs,a letter explaining the situation and a completed "The Work Number"'s form allowing them access if they need it. I am hoping that they have seen this often enough that it will not cause too much of a problem...

my company used the same "Work number" verification. Its a huge pain in the !$%# and has issues. Even my Manager had issues with it.

Where exactly is that link? I can't find anything like that anywhere. Am I just overlooking it or has the site been changed recently?

I have the same issue, I just asked for a letter prior to my company starting to use this, and there was an error on my letter, and handwrote the correction, because she was instructed not to write anymore letters and that we had to use theworknumber.

Go to http://theworknumber.com/

Click "enter site"

Under log in, click "find employer name"

Either manually type in the name and search, or click the first letter of your company's name under search field.

When found, type in SSN

I am going to try doing this to get a back up copy.
