Consulate Review: Guangzhou, China
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : September 6, 2012
Embassy Review : My finacee's interview was on August 24. I was not able to attend it with her since I will accompany her to the U.S. on 9/14 so I don't have a lot of details. She said the the interview went fairly well but the woman interviewing her asked many more questions than she had expected. The entire interview was in English, which was no problem except that the interviewer tended to talk very rapidly. The majority of the questions she asked were about our Ex spouses and my family. The only additional papers she asked for were the tax returns (copies of 3 years returns)and then for the recent pictures of us together. The pictures( only about 7) were attached to a piece of paper with a description of who, and where, the picture was taken. The interviewer even "quizzed" my finacee about certain pictures describing them and then asking her where they were taken. Overall, the experience at GUZ went very smoothly and she was told that she should receive her visa within one week.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
