Waiting for NVC to assign case number

Sorry if I am posting in the incorrect place, but here goes...

I received the NOA2 for the I-130 stating that it was approved on May 25 and that it was being forwarded to the NVC. I realize that it takes at least 15 days and we have had a holiday, but I was wondering how long it could take before we are assigned a case number?

My husband and I have both called the NVC several times. They have not received our information. I am a little worried. The NVC rep told me to scan the NOA2 approval and email it with our stats to NVCresearch@state.gov. Could our packet gotten lost? I am so worried.

Thank you in advance!

“ Oh, the comfort - the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person - having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are, chaff and grain together; certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then with the breath of kindness blow the rest away.

So, did NVC tell you that your case hasn't received yet?

Mine was May 21 and NVC received our case on 11th of June.

I also sent emails to NVC, that's not helpful. 10 days later to reply you

You can call them to ask them whether they receive your case or not.

If so, you don't need to worry much.

They will take another 10 business days to assign a case number for you.

We are also waiting for our case number.

I think you will be fine :star:

You will hear your case being received soon.

This two links about getting NVC case number.

Have you sent an email with your NOA 2 notice of action copy to NVC yet.

You should send it even though I did and not have a reply yet. :bonk:

Recently, at least 1 month to get a case number from NVC if files are transferred from CSC.

They usually organize a size of batch to send to NVC, I read a post said that last night.

It's currently taking around a month from NOA2 to get a case number assigned. I'm tracking cases from the NVC thread and you can see the spreadsheet in my signature.

Yes, I emailed them the NOA2. I also just spoke to them. They said that even if it is lost they would work it out. I am so scared. I was so happy to get the NOA2 and now it might be lost? I don't know what to do or think. I hope it isn't much longer.

Not be scared.

I think you can prepare all documents for NVC stage now.

Such as DS3032,DS230,I864 forms and documents.

Have you had your police check certificate yet?

You can apply it now.

During my waiting, I only focus what I have to do next.

We prepare all documents for ready to go, except the case number.

hey i have same problem..nvc has not receive my case ..its 36days since noa2(on 14th may) .so i am also worried..i also mail scan copy or that ..but they dont have any answere..pls god help us..

I am aware that NVC is little bit slower than when I was at the same stage. But 36 days is quite long as the case has yet to RECEIVE.

When did you send the email?? it takes almost week -10 days to get back to you. Frustrating part: you might get only genetic email saying you will hear within next 20 days. Dont worry to much about such email..you should hear way before than that. Prepare for NVC stage...

be positive, they might assign CASE number when you hear back from NVC...

good luck :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

I guess it is all a waiting game. I had just hoped that this stage was a bit quicker. Maybe I am just overreacting, but my mind is just running in circles. Thanks for the positive feedback.
