I already sent divorce papers with my n400 but the officer requested a copy of the divorce petition couple days after interview by mail.. i wonder why ..nobody ever asked me for that ..well i got my conditional green card through marriage but i removed condition after the divorce and they were aware of the divorce at that time but they still approved my 10 years green card.. So why now they need the petition for divorce.. Doesn't make sense

he asked for thatm, because he wants to read the petition and know the reason behind the divorce, Did you try to contact your congressman ????

day 43-- 05/23/2012-- Notice for an interview is received for 06/26 @ 2pm

day 63-- 06/12/2012-- Received a Text & email for an update- Card production EAD/AP

day 77-- 06/26/2012-- interview / approved on the spot.

day 86-- 07/05/2012-- Received my GC in the mail.

day 1 -- 04/07/2014 -- ROC Package delivered to VSC

day 16 -- 04/23/2014 -- Walk-in Bio.

day 197 -- 10/20/2014-- Approval Letter received dated 10/16/2014

day 202 -- 10/25/2014-- GC received

from my observation i have noticed that people that are applying for themselve will usually take longer, I don't understand how it say you are divorced in your Naturalization certificate Grasppor..... why?

Yes i did last week but havent heard back from them yet, will wait till monday and conatct them again to see if they got an answer from uscis

When did you apply? as I said this cases takes longer if you are divorce just a few months more nothing big. I don't understand how if you were divorced and showed them the divorce decree why they would still want to pursue down that path is there any information that you might know that they probably looking for?

It is NOT true AT ALL that applications with divorce take longer than other cases. All cases/applications are processed without making choosing/selecting one on another. Secondly, USCIS always like to know the civil status of all applicants no matter which application applicants file for such as whether applicant/beneficiary is single, married or divorced. On naturalization certificate, USCIS does indicate someone's status. And again, officer wants to see the divorce decree because he/she forgot to the see something in it at the time of interview or might have not seen divorce decree in itself inside the file as sometimes documents do get lost. But it's totally wrong to assume that applications of divorced-people take longer.

Finally applied for my Passport today. Tried to call the post office to make an appointment - got a busy signal on many attempts. I had to go into town, so I went by the post office. The soonest they could take me was March 18th! (And I live in a small town). I booked the appointment - disappointed, as I'd got my pictures taken and had everything ready to go.

Then it occurred to me that I'd read that there were other places locally ... like the courthouse, so I googled the courthouse on my phone, called, and yes, I could just walk in and submit my application. The clerk advised me that they don't take pictures there which was fine because I'd already had mine made.

So I popped into the courthouse and was in and out in about 20 minutes.

GOT THE REMOVAL OF CONDITIONS ON GC, AND PERMANENT GC APPROVAL-20 NOV, 2012

GOT PERMANENT GC ON 26TH NOV, 2012

AND THE LIFE GOES ON, BEAUTIFULLY... :)
