I need advice please!!!!

Years ago a friend of my husband who lives in the US filled a lottery visa application on my husband's behalf why not a tourist visa one??? I DON'T KNOW WHY :/..Since he just wanted my husband to visit the country. They are really close friends since long time ago.

My question is

To me i just want my hubby to tell the true he didn't know and just sign the doc. would this be good???? He was just trusting his friend at the moment my husband did not understand english and i was a little unresponsible to finding out what he was signing before he did.. which i think many times it's a cultural misundertanding thinking that you can do in the US the same you do in other countries easily...anyways

Please advice me, you think will be the right think to say what happened?

would this affect our case?

I'm sad and worried :/ I just feel we should do the right thing, just worried about the consecuences...

Tourist visas are not petition based, your husband's friend would not have filled any paperwork for one.

When the question regarding prior visa applications or any prior petitions filed on his behalf come up, a truthful answer must be given.

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

Many people in third world countries have their family in the US do the visa lottery for them. It saves they having to pay someone with a "lettery center" money to apply when it should be free and then pay again to check if their number is a winner ( many of these people keep your entry number hostage ). All he did is put your husbands name into a pool to win a chance to apply for a visa. They don't count entering the lottery as applying for a visa, that happens for winners only.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

There is nothing wrong with having filed out the dv lottery visa application. The only issue would be if he lied, such as said he was married then when he was not or similar.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Having had his name enterred in the diversity lottery will not affect anything.

I did this once (or twice?) can't remember. but I wasn't selected so never applied for any visa through that program.

Was not even asked about it during my immigration process.
