Return Transcript vs. Account Transcripts

Hello

well, apparently there is a Return Transcript and an Account Transcript that one can order from IRS, and I need to figure out which one to order.

My questions:

1) Which one will show adjustments made to the filing status after the original filing?

2) Which one will show the marital status?

3) How long will each one take to process?

Thank you in advance

You need the return transcript. Not the account - USCIS and the US embassy do not want an account transcript.

Thank you.

I am guessing that your statement also applies to IR-1/CR-1 visa, correct (I know that question is in K-1 section :))?

The reason I ask is because I had to amend the filing status (single -------> married filing separately) for my 2010 return. It appears that the Return transcript will not show the amendment and will show the original (incorrect) filing status. I just don't want to have issues with NVC and the embassy. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks

Perhaps get the tax return transcript to send in, and also provide a copy of the amendment you sent.

that's acually what I was thinking of doing as well, along with attaching a copy of the letter sent to me from the IRS confirming the receipt of the amendment.
