  1. 1. Should the post padding threads in Off Topic be closed?

    • Yes, they serve no purpose other than to pad one's post count.
    • No, let them stay as they are.
    • Other-and please state your suggestions.

And it really is that simple, seriously.

May I add that if a poster doesn't like another poster please use the ignore user filter (or better yet practice self control) and don't become a snitch and misuse the reprot user function just because you didn't get the cuddling you think you deserve.

What is post padding and why are people doing it? I like the OT threads sometimes as they are fun and give a little break from the stress of the process.

Posting just for the sake of posting, such as counting, the time, etc. They aren't games and have no purpose other than to add to your post count.

Post padding, or post "whoring", is taking any and all opportunities to increase your post count. One reason to increase the post count, is to acquire all those big red hearts some members display. The big hearts don't endow any particular skill, or expertise, other than the willingness to spend hour after hour, day after day, year after year, hoping to alleviate the boredom that one's life has become.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

your concerns will be taken under advisement

as for posting for sake of increasing post counts well its just childish isn't it?

this is a global community not everything will be to your liking. deleting everything in your life that you dislike is not a solution to ANY problem.

its always good to get members feedback even from the ones that never visit that section of the forum as well. its quite informative.

If it does not bestow anything as stated then yeah what a sad sad little life they live to be doing that.

You mean like cash? I'm still waiting for my check, if so. It's like getting points at any sort of game. If you enjoy playing the game, then you try to get as many points as you can. If you don't enjoy playing the game, then it doesn't matter.
