Hi everyone,

We sent our i-130 package on 4/24 and it was received on 4/27. We still haven't received the NOA1 yet but I checked my bank account and the check was cashed on 5/2. I included the g-1145 for email notification. Has this happened to anyone else? And, by them cashing the check does it mean that they are actively working on our case or that they have just opened the package and took the check?

Thanks and fingers crossed!

Don't worry......" the Check was cashed on 5/2" is a good indicator that USCIS got the required fee from your account and its been only 3/4 days .....should get NOA1 any time soon.....I know you can't wait to check you mail tomorrow...lol..........:blush::blush:

Hi everyone! Here is the summary of what happened with my lousy NOAs!---

On April 24th I submittied the i-130 for my Spanish husband. We live together in Spain and I listed our current address on the I-130 and G-325A. I was a bit concerned about listing my foreign address, although the Spanish postal system is quite ok, so included the G-1145 too just in case with my email (I know the USCIS doesn't send texts to foreign numbers). WELL, we received delivery notice from UPS on April 27th but nothing from USCIS and then May 2nd rolled around and still nothing from USCIS but my check was cashed. I tried to be patient but kept seeing everyone receiving their NOA1 and we still had nothing. We were hoping to get the expedited route since I am a USC living abroad but were getting discouraged.

Finally, today, 10 business days after they had received it, I called USCIS. They said they had started and gave me my case number which I put into the USCIS website and it had already been approved!!!!! SO EXCITED!

I proceeded to call USCIS back and ask where my NOAs where since the case had been opened, reviewed and closed without my ever knowing it and they told me that they do NOT send hard copies to anywhere outside the US or its territories. I had no idea and specifically called USCIS when filling out my forms to ask that very question. Regardless, they are sending a second hard copy (since the NOA2 they sent out will never make it here) to a family member of mine in the States.

I don't remember this being written anywhere on the form, so wanted to share it. Heck, maybe it was somewhere and I just was so overwhelmed I missed it, but, if you are a USC living abroad and you send in your I-130 and it seems like they ignored your G-1145 email notification form, give them a call and hopefully it will come with as good of news as ours!

GOOD LUCK!

Hey! Our process went very well after I called USCIS. I don't know if the electronic request of the NOA1 was lost in transit or something but we had no idea that it had been received except for the check being cashed. But after figuring out that they had it it was a very short time until the i-130 was approved! Just keep calling USCIS and good luck!
