Hi,

I already filed i-130 packet and i-129f packet too.

Its already been 90 days and my case status for both i-130 and i-129f says initial review. Its very difficult to stay apart from your life partner and very hard to say bye everytime on airport by just saying god is with us we will soon get together.

Please help me out, how much time it takes to move to next stage.

Thanks,

Ravinder Singh Mathur

Moved from K1 Process & Procedures to IR-1/CR-1 Process & Procedures.

The two petitions will be tied together by USCIS and adjudicated at the same time. If approved, they will likely be sent to the NVC at the same time. If the NVC receives both at the same time or the I-130 first, the I-129F will be administratively closed.

I am sorry, but you slowed down your case by filing the I129F. Your I130 was taken out of its place in line, married up with the I129F and put at the back of the line, so look at 5 - 6 months from the date you filed the I129F

Good luck

HOW LONG MY CASE WILL BE IN INITIAL REVIEW STAGE

It doesn't matter. Petitions go from "Initial Review" to Final Decision without intermediate steps, so this won't help you predict when your petition is approved. The next step will either be approval of your petition or a request for evidence.

Also, please don't use CAPS as it sounds like screaming.

The current processing time for approval of an I-130 is about 6 to 6.5 months. Until then, it'll be in initial review. Once approved, it currently is taking almost a month to get a case number from NVC. After that, if all your documents are in order, you could sail thru NVC in a few weeks. It could take another month to two months to get an interview date. All in all, I'd say be prepared for around 10 months to a year.

avg waiting time is 6 months for NOA-2 for an I-130.

Since you filed the I-129F, add in anywhere from 2 weeks to 11 weeks more.

Thanks for the update.

But we hired the lawyer and he suggested to file the petition of 129f packet to get the visa early.

we filed i130 earlier and after that we filed i-129f.

so now i will have to wait for 2 to 11 weeks more?

thanks,
