Round trip tickets are usually 1/2 the price of a one way ticket.

Of course, you can buy a one way ticket for K1 visa.

If you happen to buy a RT ticket, make certain you cancel the return leg and keep that confirmation number just encase the airline sells your seat, but forgets to remove you from the manifest. The USCIS will accuse you of having left the US and it is up to you to prove that you didn't. Proving a negative is always hard as there is very little documentation. I bought a RT ticket with the return leg 89 days after the arrival so if things did not work out my then fiancee could return home before the I-94 expired. Once marriage, I canceled the return leg.

Good luck,

Dave
