A point of clarification needed

Are semi-pornographic, "soft" porn or pictures more revealing than you'd see in a Victoria's Secret catalogue acceptable as post content on VJ now? I'm not opposed to viewing racy pics or porn in my non-VJ life, but many of us read this site in places where being seen to be viewing such material could have negative repercussions. Although I turn images off on VJ at work myself, images are visible on the VJ mobile format I view on my phone. I'd rather not be in the checkout line at Vons and have the woman behind me think I'm looking at titty pics.

Can we just get a little clarification on this?

Just curious. They got rid of the pics and the thread so what is the whining about?

luckytxn, I think Honey Crumpet is speaking to the Moderating Team.

Our journey together on this earth has come to an end.

I will see you one day again, my love.

The offending media was taken down and the thread locked before posting this. That should be the answer already. Was just curious why the whining still. She posted in a public forum so was asking a question but thanks for your chiming in needlessly.

Perhaps she started this thread before the other thread got removed?

No. The other thread had the media taken out and it was locked before this posted already. I thought the action was very unfair but didn't whine. Was also seeking clarification for this thread. It used to be OK to ask someone questions and asked the young lady.

Soft porn is not acceptable on Visajourney. The pictures from yesterday and today were both taken down and administrative action taken.

Keep in mind that all moderators are volunteers, and we cannot be on the site 24/7. Thius, it can take several hours until a report is acted upon.

Thank you, Penguin. It's not the modding I'm commenting on -- I know you guys try to respond quickly. Its just that I think we all know the rules but they're repeatedly and consciously flouted.

And the teacher pic was still up when I posted. It was what spurred this question. The topic was worth discussing as an actual topic, though.

I disagree on what is soft porn. A few is now determining what is acceptable. The teacher I can maybe have understood but not the Nuns. Too uneven here. Maybe some Males input is needed here. So far from what I have seen is a few ladies complain and lady moderators complying.

The other issue with regards to the 'nuns' is that a number of individuals on this site found the images sacrilegious and offensive to their religious beliefs. As such, while the images may have made nice eye candy for some of the male viewers, they were deemed inappropriate. Nuns depicted as sexual 'objects' do not belong on a family based multicultural immigration website and those posting the images should know the TOS well enough by now to realize it..

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

No one one this site is more religious than I. If this is a TOS violation than anything can be considered one. How many complaints does it take to say it is taking away enjoyment of others and take action? Is there a morality police here that determines what is OK or not? I saw two ladies complain then lady Mods take action. Is it OK for us guys to complain about sugary subjects and have action taken. It takes away from our enjoyment after all but I would rather to just not enter offending threads. (There are many offensive threads)

The teacher pic was actually posted before and a few of us had fun with the bad teacher thread and posted pics of teachers that had gotten arrested for having sex with students. It was OK two weeks ago with no sensibilities offended then. Is the boobie thread off limits now? I am sure you can see my concern about a possible arbitrary TOS violation being taken. The P&R section has always been known as not for the timid and there are other sections that moral police can reside. A few should not rule over the majority.

If you have problems with the decision you can request Captain Ewok to view the images and the threads and see if he supports the decision or changes it. He is a man, so that should work in your favour if it is merely an issue of overly 'sensitive' females.

Just because something was posted previously and no mod action happened does not mean that it was 'ok'. It means that it wasn't reported. The teacher thread this time wasn't reported until 2 days after it was posted. It is not an issue of morality police; it is an issue of observing the Terms of Service for Visa Journey. Politics & Religion forum and Off Topic are still expected to observe the TOS.

Half nude, nuns portrayed in sexually provocative poses and circumstances is definitely inappropriate for Visa Journey.

I am sure Ewok will defer to you. I was sure you would not or could not see my concerns. I also never said that it was overly "sensitive" females. That is putting words in my mouth that I never even meant. I used the word 'ladies'. That is used respectfully where I grew up and meant it that way. If the word ladies is offensive where others are then I apologize for using that word. I did mean tp point out that it was a couple of ladies that complained and a lady mod that took action. Possibly an unfair action.

I find the context and the specific forum the Nuns were in to be appropriate. It is a judgement call that a mod has made for a couple of moral police persons. Persons that have posted highly offensive comments in the past. I didn't whine about the offensive stuff at that time but I am not a moral policeman for others.
