Well, you may as well remove us from the list. My husband wants to reschedule his interview for June...he's supposedly calling tomorrow. I can't believe he's going to crack at the very near end of this drawn out emotional process! We are on different wavelengths right now and I don't know how to get through to him how important these last steps are.

Why does he want to wait longer? And why did you guys take a break in the middle of the process, too? Too much stress?

Difficult to explain, but I guess after 4+years in a long distance relationship we are hanging by threads. He's dreading the interview because of a denial, but he knows how things will pan out and had plenty of time to prepare for it. I guess because its actually here, he's panicking?!

My understanding is that unless you do something really foolish or outright illegal, a denial at the interview often just means you have to bring them an additional piece of paperwork the next day and then they'll review it again and approve the visa. Am I wrong?

Yes, that's true. We have known he will (or probably will) get a denial, but an option to file a waiver. He has an arrest history from many years ago, nothing too serious but enough that he will need an I 601. So I have been working on it for months and he was going to have it ready to submit at the interview, subject to denial. I hate that he has to go through all this embarrasment, but its the process and its not in my power to change immigration law, at this moment and time anyway.

Because he's procrastinating. Making every excuse why he is not ready. "i don't know if i can get my medical done that quick" "i just started this new job, its short notice to be taking days off so soon" a few others I'd rather not post, but I am so angry with him that I have decided that its all him now. He has to be a big boy and hold up his end of the bargain...like i said, he's known all along how things would go. It's his turn to show me how much he wants this.

Ticket booked...round trip....I took a chance and booked the return 2 days after the interview. I've been told you get the visa the next day at our embassy. I wanted to be here in time for our daughters birthday so its worth the risk worse case I change the ticket date!!!
