I have a question. I heard lots of cases from Pakistan go under AP. Is there any particular reason why? Our last name is not very common at all and I heard people with more common names have a higher chance of going under AP. Is that true? What's the average time to under AP?

Not sure about that, I could speculate why but that won't help you. Post your question in the main forum.

I believe there was a conversation about this in the March 2012 NVC thread...

My husband's interview at the London Embassy is May 9th...

If he's approved (hope so!) how long *maximum* do you think it will take to get his passport (with the visa and the "brown envelope" of forms) back from the embassy in London?

I'm trying to book our tickets to the US (and book space for cats) and I don't want to risk scheduling them too soon (but if I wait much longer the prices are going to hike through the roof!)

Ideas?

I'm so stressed!!!:bonk:

If you look at the top of your screeen where the different tabs are you will see one that says Reviews: Embassy/USCIS & POE

Hit that tab making sure to click the word embassy, because the POE will take you to POrt of Entry reviews!

Most of what I've read suggests you'll get it back within 3-4 days, but I would give yourself at *least* two full weeks.

If you can, see if you can find tickets that are cheap to exchange so that if something goes wrong (if they need some additional piece of paperwork at the embassy and that delays things), you don't feel as frantic.

Ultimately, though, you have to figure that buying a plane ticket now and being forced to exchange it for a fee may be cheaper than buying a plane ticket at the last minute!

Also, since you're dealing with the London consulate... how did you find out when they had received your file from NVC? Did they contact you, or did you contact them, and if so, how?
