G-1145 is a must

I notice a lot of topics about members unsure if their application has been received. Weeks have passed and some members do not know what has happened to their application.

My advice to anybody that is planning on sending the I-129F application for the K-1 visa is to attach the G-1145 form. It is free and as soon as the USCIS receives your application they will send you a text message or/and an email message. It will save you from worrying too much.

Also spend a little more money and get the delivery confirmation when you mail it. You will worry less.

May God help me in my application, that everything goes smoothly and that I am not missing any information and that I do not get a RFE. May God help you too....

1145 is a nice form yes.... when they actually use it ! more often then not they just disregard it and people get no notification even when they included that form.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Yea i can't get the page to open.I updated adobe and still nothing..

That form is tricky to open, I got the same problem for our I-129F, and then for AOS, even after updating Adobe. It eventually worked on another computer...

I would try another browser too, sometimes that helps.

I agree G-1145 is an awesome form, but attaching it to your petition doesn't mean they will actually use it. Our I-129F has been approved but we have received neither e-mails nor texts from them along the way. Filling this form out was a waste of time for us. Oh well.

OUR K1 JOURNEY:

2/27/2012 - mailed in I-129F Petition

3/02/2012 - received NOA1

7/23/2012 - noticed a status change to "RFE" on USCIS website

7/26/2012 - received RFE hardcopy in mail

7/28/2012 - mailed in RFE reply

7/31/2012 - RFE reply arrived at USCIS

8/09/2012 - noticed a status change to "RFE reply review" on USCIS website

8/15/2012 - NOA2!!! (166 days from NOA1)

8/20/2012 - our petition arrived at NVC

8/23/2012 - our petition left NVC

8/27/2012 - our petition arrived at Warsaw Embassy, Poland

8/28/2012 - e-mailed Packet 3

9/11/2012 - INTERVIEW!!!

9/28/2012 - US entry!!!

They don't always use it. This form is only intended for an initial text/email to verify they have received your application. If you want further notifications you need to sign up with USCIS for case updates.

Yes it would be nice if they were consistent in using the G-1145 and the status updates, but we are relying on them to actually use these options and keep us informed, but often it doesn't happen.

We have yet to receive notification through either of these.

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number

Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere, and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .
