Jersey, I have been looking all over to see where else I can find this new info. I guess it will take a few days to show up everywhere. This would be so great if it is for the interview and Banco Popular fees. Thanks for the great news... :thumbs: :thumbs: :thumbs:

It is for the Banco Popular and Visa Fee but I dont know how they are going to break down the new fee.

On the Federal Register it states that the family-based visa I-130, I-600 or I-800 will be decreased from $330 to $230. So if that is the form that you filed I guess it would apply to you as well.

So guys, who can tell me...if i have just recived the package 3 a few days ago, and had started filling out the forms...is it better for me to wait until the April 12th,then to send forms to the consulat, so i would pay less...or it doesn't matter, if i send them now and pay after April 12th, will it also be 350$ or 240$?

Is the visa application in package 3. if it is I think it makes sense to wait. If its not then just send the paperwork so that you can get your appointment.

Is this for everywhere or just DR ? Also lets say i get my NOA2 this week its takes a week to get there and maybe another week for my fiance to go the manila and get her and daughter medical so i would be in the guide line for the decrease or does it start when they send you the text/email about the NOA2?

Its for evewhere. I really dont know when I would guess that its when you go to the interview. For instance in DR you have to pay the visa fee at the interview and the bank fee before. I dont know how your consulate works, go to their page and see if they updated their info yet. I dont think it should have anything to do with NOA2 and medicals being that its the visa fee.

Ok so they are not both Banco Popular Fees I just checked:

As soon as you have obtained the documents that are applicable in your case, take this sheet to any Banco Popular branch in the Dominican Republic to pay the non-fundable visa application fee of the equivalent of US$140.00 in Dominican pesos and an additional non-refundable fee of US$15.00 (the equivalent in Dominican pesos) plus applicable taxes per applicant. This fee is for the official verification of your records. All applicants must pay the equivalent of US$140.00 fee, but only applicants who will be age 18 or older on the day of their interview need to pay the equivalent US$15.00 fee. Make sure to take the Banco Popular receipt to the Consular Section on the day of your interview.

Starting June 4, 2010, all K visa applications need to pay US$210.00 the day of the interview in the Consular Section.

They still dont have the new update info. I would also like to know so I guess we have to keep our eyes open.

I have a letter out the embassy, but does anyone know whether or not this will be effective for all interviews on the 13th or just the ones scheduled on or after the 13th?

You may need to check with the embassy where the interview takes place. The London embassy just posted this information today on the visa processing fees: http://london.usembassy.gov/visanews015.html

If the change takes effect on 13 April 2012, to qualify for the new fee schedule, it sounds like the consulate has to receive your application(s) after 13 April 2012. At least that is how I would interpret the info notice posted by didopage. It still may be a good idea to inquire with your specific consulate for details.

Whew who..... we may get a bit of a break in the cost of the visa !!!! :dance:
