Rescheduling Biometrics

Good Day VJers!

I need your ideas and advice please. I received my I-485 and I-765 NOA and biometrics appointment last March 5, 2012 which was scheduled March 29 but we need to rescheduled it. I just found out today that when my husband sent the original letter to the locl ASC he just check the box where it says if you need to reschedule it,he never write some statement request explaining when and why. My question is if that was ok and would our appointment will be rescheduled? Starting to worry now. Can we reschedule it by calling them?

Never mind - you would need the original appointment letter for that, and your husband already mailed it in.

I do not intend this to be taken as scolding. Its just info. It's water under the bridge, but before making decisions like those check to see what to do first. As LaineB said, you could have walked in earlier and explained that you cannot make that date. You NEED that letter. Call and request a duplicate copy from a tier 2 officer.

You took the words RIGHT OUT OF MY MOUTH. You should have tried to do a walk-in and explaining to them that you couldn't make that date.

that's why we can't do walk in because its 3 hours drive and he don't want to take off from work if it's not sure.

I will let him call them since... somtimes he just don't listen to what I say.

Why don't you just make the call, if your husband doesn't always listen to what you say. It would probably be quicker.

he can't. It's YOUR process. They're not supposed to talk to anyone but you or your nominated agent (if you put a lawyers info on the form for example). So YOU need to call

You know I was gonna say something, but I didn't want to be mean or anything. Its your process you have to be on your toes about it. Regardless of what happens, he's still gonna be a USC. You? Not so much. So you need to call!!!!!

Thank you! I know it is my process but its his money, he's my husband and his the sponsor so I believe he still have the right to talk to them than the nominated agent and he is part of the process. But anyway, I am not here for that. Either me or him will call doesn't matter as long as we get the right information. Thanks for your time

You might WANT him to be able to talk to them but he can't. I'm not being rude I'm telling you how it is. The ONLY thing he has any right to talk about is his I-864... the rest is all you. I'm just telling you that he can try and call and talk to them but as soon as he gives the case number they ask him to confirm the details of the person on file, when he says it's for his wife, they'll tell him that he needs to call with you in the room to give permission, or you need to call. That's just how it works.

Thanks! My husband called today, he knows all the details and no problem. He was just instructed to send a request letter to local ASC where I sent the Biometrics Appointment Notice. I feel relieved now.
