I'll just share our current issue that may serve as a heads up to other cat owners.

Two cats, now 8 years old, brother and sister. Normal for both was hacking up hairball the girl still does that. The boy on the other hand in the past 18 months would munch down his food and then throw up minutes afterwards - we thought that was normal (you know, gluttonous cat) and raised it up with vets on several occasions but were told it's nothing. The last time was back in December when both cats had teeth cleaning, blood work done - regular check ups. Told in perfect health both for their age. Boy at 13.4 lbs, girl at 10 lbs.

Arrive to new place of employment and not even two weeks later the boy starts throwing up more and more. Then won't eat, losing weight. I weigh him and he is at 12.5 lbs. Called the first vet that does house calls and he was given two strong antibiotics shots. Perks up a bit, starts eating but more vomiting. Called the vet back - more shots, he is doing better in her opinion probably just a bug or stress related. Same thing again. One more time vet comes and I ask for blood work and x-rays as to me cat is not doing well as his weight is going down - not necessary told. When the cat stopped eating and puked one more time I've had had enough - texted vet to come and demanded better treatment, blood work and x-rays. The vet complied and put me in touch with a vet clinic close to my work where we took the cat. He was weighed and had only 10.4 lbs! The new vet ran the tests and x-rays and finally we had the diagnosis - pancreatitis infection, fluid in the stomach, high blood sugar (because of pancreatitis). Kept at the clinic for treatment going on 4 days now - the very next day we were allowed to visit him he was sooo much better and is every day happy to see us - meows and head butts and paws sticking out of the cage to be petted. I see all the blood results and am shown what they're watching for and see he is treated great. We have another 3 days before he can be released to go home once all tests are back to normal.

I googled the heck out of the diagnosis and he didn't have a lot of the symptoms. He also wasn't injured, is not a Siamese breed, but is considered middle-aged. The fPLI for pancreatitis was the giveaway as well as his CBC and sed rate.

Love your furry ones and always go with the gut instinct. :luv: If you think the cat is not his/her usual self, don't be afraid to question the service provider - wish we had done this on the first vet visit but hindsight is 20/20...

Good that you were persistent and got the trouble identified.

Today is the 2-year anniversary of the death of the cat that inspired this thread... her successor is a very loving feline, but there's a hole in the heart that can't completely be filled.

Lenny, my eldest, has started to barf regularly if he eats with much gusto. He scarfs it down like we haven't fed him in days and a few minutes later, it's all over the floor. Have to keep Homer the Beagle at bay when that happens.

The cat barfed again tonight, by her food bowl. She did not re-eat the barf, but rather acted upset that no one cleaned it up.

Lenny, my eldest, has barfed four times today. I'm starting to get worried. He's not down, he's his normal self, playing and being cheerful. Perhaps something affected him? Keep in mind that Carl the cat ate from the same can and is also his usual self (kneading my gut) and has not barfed. What do you guys think?

Note: Lenny ate greenies treats, that's what started the barfing, Carl did not, as he doesn't like them. Could it be that?

If you've eliminated other variables, you might have answered this yourself. The conclusion would be even more firm if he had never eaten them before or if he ate more of them this time than previously.

One of mine also throws up after he eats the Greenies 'Digestion' treats so I am no longer giving them to him. The other cats have no problem with them, so it could just be a sensitive stomach.

Lenny must've eaten something in the backyard (we let them go out), because he eats greenies dental treats all the time and this episode was the first. He's keeping everything down now, including greenies (which he loves).

11/09/2012 - Appointment for Biometrics
12/08/2012 - EAD and AP Card arrived in mail. No updates to USCIS website.
07/26/2013 - Approved, no interview.

04/30/2015 - Mailed I-751

06/03/2015 - Appointment for Biometrics

02/29/2016 - Approved, no interview.

03/14/2016 - Received 10-year Card

Cat didn't barf last month that I saw.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
