No barf from our kitties yet. But on a serious note, one of my cats (I ought to kill him!) got a hold of my passport and gnawed some of the pages. It expires January of 2015. From what I understand, once a passport is mangled, it is void, right? If that's the case, can I get a new one even before it expires? Would it be a new expiration date? Or would it be like a reissue with same expiration date?

Dunno, F-Bone. Call a passport office to find out (and let us know, si man).

I was able to renew my passport via mail. The cat only got some pages, the page with the info was intact, so the clerk at the post office said it can still be renewed via mail. If it had been the page with the info that was mangled, then I would've had to renew in person.

In cat news, we are cat-sitting my best friend's cat while they go on their honey moon. This guy is bulimic! So I expect to clean up quite a bit of barf.

No cats, but dog barf was one of the major things that made me realize I wanted to marry Y. When he was visiting and we were staying with my parents, their dog developed kidney disease and would throw up twice a day. Whenever it happened, he would jump up like his a@@ was on fire and beat everyone else to the cleanup. I would think to myself, "THIS is the guy I want to marry!"

Hopefully, this will apply to future kids.

So yeah. Willingness to clean up barf=true love.

The cat barfed, but only during our absence. The leavings were found by the cat-sitter. Because this was a first-time barf, one can presume that it was a "statement" about having been left alone.

Big news, see man: The new cat (here nearly 19 months, but not the original who inspired this thread) has finally barfed! There was a circular hairball formation, and two (2) piles of regular barf. No one heard the production, and she did not try to re-eat the barf. Regardless, I am proud, whee man. :thumbs:

I feel so at home while reading this thread!

I left my cat at home with my parents when I moved abroad to be with my fiance (1+ years ago). Don't worry, I facetime with her frequently! luv.gif As much as I wanted to take her, I knew she wouldn't appreciate the move in her old age. She has always been bulimic (often I woke up in a panic at 4am to try and bring her to the bathroom to avoid early AM carpet cleaning), but has since progressed to puking on my brother's bed on a weekly basis. Gotta love a brother who is willing to put up with that!!!

Two Latvian kitties currently at home, and they aren't much for barfing. Our main trials with them are self-created. See: Litter-Kwitter training in progress! sleepy.gif

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Monthly bump. No barf recently, but sneezing.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.
