So my I-864, the joint sponsor's I-864, and then sponsor agreement 864A all go together?

Er, do you have a second joint sponsor who is your first joint sponsor's spouse?

After a nervous break down last night because hubby and I argued over my choice of joint sponsor to replace the first one.. we had to start over on the AOS packagedesismileys_3525.gif

After sending off a frantic email or two, we went back to our original joint sponsor. :wow:

When I woke up this morning all was right with the world and I have the things I need for the most part.

I'm about to lose it over all this!

My sponsor is my wife, and her mother will be the joint sponsor.

You do not need an I-864a unless your mother in law is counting her spouses income with hers.

otherwise you need an I-864 for your wife and one for her mother.

My stuff were delivered yesterday morning. I called this morning and was told it would take 20 days to review.

OK i'm saying to myself, how about i call back in 10 min. :devil:

Hum i called this morning at 7h40 am. The operator ask me to call next week. I will call tonight again or have my wife called them tonight

Keep in mind, October's thread kept getting posts for an additional 4 months after October finished :P

My sponsor is my wife, and her mother will be the joint sponsor.

Okay, then there is no need for an I-864A unless your wife's father contributes his income. Otherwise it's:

-your wife fills out the I-864

-your wife's mother fills out the I-864

Also, not sure if you read the guides and the FAQ, but you'll need proof of citizenship/residency from your wife's mother, as well as proof they're related.

For this process we are using the same address for wife and in-laws, so they share a household. But it will just be my Mother In Law's tax info being submitted. Does that change things?

Nope, doesn't change things. I-864A's are generally only filled out when a joint sponsor is combining their income with their spouse.

Hi all,

we just received our NOA2 a few days ago (woop!), but the problem is that the petitioner, my husband, is currently deployed with the navy and will be so for a few more months. I want us as prepared as possible for when he gets home and can fill out the aos forms and get his tax docs in order, but what are the steps I can take? I know I need to get our case #, IIN, and I can obviously have my ds-230 ready to be sent out, but can my husband pay the fees when he hits port even though we will not be able to send either of the packages until he gets back to the US? He has the English version of our marriage certificate so I can't even send out my package. Am I missing something, any thoughts what I could do?
