Until you have reason to think otherwise, consider yourself blessed to have one less level of bureaucracy standing between you and your dream.

This is exactly how I'm inclined to view the shipping of a case directly to the consulate. I understand already what the fear is, though...that doing so will only screw things up and cause you a longer time at the consulate. Well, I for one am praying that won't happen to you, Gary and Luz, or to tjv2000 or anyone else. NO MORE SCREW UPS!!!:no::no:

January 2004: Met Laurent at the Bibliothèque nationale in Paris

February 2004: We became an actual couple

January 29th, 2006: I left France to return to the United States--AWFUL to say goodbye!

June 2006: Finally convinced Laurent that a K-1 visa would be more time-effective than trying to get an H-1

August 1st, 2006: The K-1 petition is finally in the mail and on its way to Nebraska...WooHoooo!! And yes, I remembered to attach the check! :-)

August 3rd, 2006: USPS online tracking shows that my petition (sent certified) was received at the NSC at 5:05am

August 14th, 2006: NOA1 received USPS!! (I-129F recv'd at CSC: 8/4; NOA date: 8/10; last touched: 8/11)

October 2nd, 2006: I MISTAKENLY thought we had an approval...False alarm...Back to waiting...

October 3rd, 2006: TOUCHED!!

October 4th, 2006: REALLY AND TRULY APPROVED!!! Email notification lists 10/3 as the NOA2 date.

Later that same day: TOUCHED...AGAIN! Hope that means I'm in a cozy box and moving to NVC this week...

October 10th, 2006: Received official NOA2 via snail mail.

October 19th, 2006: Case received at NVC!! AWESOME!!

October 20th, 2006: Case forwarded to Paris!! DHL says two shipments were headed that way. Must be in there somewhere...

October 27th, 2006: Received official receipt letter from NVC via USPS.

No new number has been assigned. That is what is worring me. If I had a new case number I would be thrilled at the idea of going straight to Manila. But since I don't have a case number I have no way of tracking where my petition is. Thats the worry.

Gary I have the same Noa2 date as you. I have called the NVC and each time they say they have no record of my case yet. It's been over 4 weeks! I hope they didn't lose the Sept 7 box.

It wont be 30 days until the 7th and i have the same date and get the same reply from them when i call i used to be able to call and talk to CSC but the uscis has changed the call line and i am unable to get through to the CSC any longer .

Now they are saying it can take up to as long as 90 days for NVC to have our case in the system.

Its just another waiting game we must play with the Govt.

You might want to send an email, my lawyer received this the next day after he sent an email for me. I was born in Spain while my dad was in the military ...maybe that is why mine is taking longer? Here is the response:

Below is the response we have received to our inquiry...It appears that everything is in order, we are just awaiting clearances....

Good Afternoon,

Your inquiry has been received at the NVC. The non-immigrant visa petition you mentioned in your letter has recently been entered into our computer system and assigned the case number MOS##########.

As part of the aftermath of the events of September 11, 2001, there are additional security check requirements for visa applicants. While it is not possible to predict when the clearances for this case will be finished by all involved Washington agencies, please be assured that as soon as the results are received, the case file will be forwarded to the appropriate US Embassy or Consulate General.

Regards,

National Visa Center

AKD/bcl

I am happy that they have my case. hmmmm

Gobdoman you are filing for the phillipines ....the same as Gary.

Hi Gary, Alot of confusing feedback here as many people are describing situations that differ from your original post. Your petition is going straight to the consular of your Fiance. No NVC! So, how does one track this package? The only way I see possible, is to keep contacting the Consular office of your Fiancee. Their web site will do no good as you need to look up interview dates by the NVC number. Contacting CSC? I don't think so. First, if they sent it, then they don't have it! They don't create the Consular tracking number.

I pray that this skipping of NVC is a blessing for you and Luz! But getting that tracking number seems only possible throught he receiving consulate.

My prayers are with you and Luz as always :)

Ok, so it looks like it will go to the NVC after all. It bites that I have to wait this long after a 6 month wait to get my NOA2 but I guess thats the way it goes. Hears hoping that next weeks has better news.

Both ....I just got off the phone with the Visa Specialist in DC and they told me they don't have a number yet!! Sooo What can I say just wait....at least I know NVC won't hold it up.....I just wish there was something more concrete!! :(:(

You've been waiting for a month......Have they sent you anything with the new number??

Nothing yet. I just talked to the DOS and they never heard of such a thing. She suggested that I call the Manila embassy and see if its there.

Gary let us know what you find out. My NOA does not say it went direct, but NVC says they have no record of our petition and USCIS says they sent it on 14 Sept. I am not panicing yet because it has only been two weeks. Good luck, Payato

I have a NOA2 date of 9/18/06 and contacting NVC yields me an answer of "we have no record of".

NVC use to be quite quick (1-2 weeks), but now there seems to be a backlog and many cases are taking 4+ weeks to clear through NVC.

Unfortunately for you, your wait is only beginning. The wait in the Dominican Republic for an interview is over 2 years now. I know you don't believe me now and this is a shock, but there is a waiting list at the Consulate. http://www.usemb.gov.do/Consular/waiting_list.htm

More information can be found on our forum.
