Strange conversation with the NVC

I just called the NVC to see if they got my case. Since it's been 4 weeks the man on the phone asked me to read the first line on my approval notice. It reads:

"The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate."

Does everyone elses say that?

He said that since it says that my petition was sent directly there.

Whats up with that??????

I wish my Aproval notice said that it was going to be sent straight to the New Delhi US Embassy. That is good news. Just hope the CSC actually sends your case to embassy and doesn't keep it in shipping status.

Nothing yet. I just talked to the DOS and they never heard of such a thing. She suggested that I call the Manila embassy and see if its there.

Gary let us know what you find out. My NOA does not say it went direct, but NVC says they have no record of our petition and USCIS says they sent it on 14 Sept. I am not panicing yet because it has only been two weeks. Good luck, Payato

Same issue with me when I call the NVC, but then again it has only been 2.5 weeks. I'm thinking of calling the USCIS to see if they sent my approval to the NVC how do I call the USCIS (CSC) to inquire.

I received my NOA2 dated Sept 22nd and it said "The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate." I just assumed it would be sent to NVC first and then sent on to Manila. I never thought it would be sent straight to Manila from USCIS. The way CSC works it would surprise me if it's even left California yet.

You can ask the same question to 2 different USCIS customer reps and get 2 different answers.

I just called USCIS twice and talked to two different reps. The first one said standard procedure is for the petition to go to NVC, stays there one day, then is forwarded to the listed embassy. The second time I called a few minutes later I was told that all K-1 Visa approvals go straight to the listed Consulate and none of them go to NVC. USCIS customer service is a joke.

They kept telling me the same thing at NVC, no record of it being there, till I called on Sept 16 and they told me the case number was assigned and the petition was being forwarded to the Embassy.

Gary, did they give you the case number? that's the first thing the Embassy will ask when calling them.

Gary,

Mine NOA2 is dated 8/16 and states "The above petition has been approved. We have sent the original visa petition to the Department of State National Visa Center (NVC), ..."

Who knows what they are doing now? Maybe some are lucky (those who have waited practically forever) and go straight to the embassy! I would say it's about your time!

Those who recently have received their NOA2 should start checking out the verbiage on theirs. Maybe they will be lucky too!

Good luck!
