Add onto that the trip to the interview, a safe place to stay, dinning, a gift to show her how much you love her (L) Then the Trip to US. You want to be sure she is comfortable and not waiting for hours in foreign airports, maybe getting lost, a more dirrect flight. More money for her to dine and call an airport person to help her with her heavy luggage to the next terminal.

I would say it will cost how ever much you value this Woman you want so bad you can not live without.

That is how much I am willing to pay!

Count on:

Cost of interview: $100 - usually in local currency - check your consulate/embassy website for details

Medical exam and potential vaccinations depending on what is necessary based on age and whether or not you choose to do them in country or in the US before AOS - check the costs with the approved medical clinic for your consulate/embassy

Cost of passport if you dont have one with 6 months left on it before expiration date

Cost of flights/hotel/food for interview

Cost of flight to US

Cost of Adjustment of Status in US including

Good luck

It will also cost $395.00 when it is time for AOS and that includes fingerprinting fee's

But who can worry about putting a dollar value on a life time of love and companionship.

Do yourself a huge favor...stop counting the dollars now and it will be easier to deal with. However the others are correct on the fees and they do not stop on this side either...AOS change of status fees, EAD fees, Surgeon General fee to certify vaccinations and health, SS application, blah blah blah. Just remember if you receive your one and only and a life of happiness...even though the fee's are expensive...it is a bargain and great investment with excellent returns...Good luck!!!

Thanks for all the info. I am a woman, my future husband lives in Nigeria.

I know the money can not compare to the joy being together will bring. I am changing jobs and just do not want to get a bill in the mail and not be able to get that money to them overnight. I am just a bit anxious with planning a wedding and raising children. I just do not want any surprises within the next month.

It's perfectly reasonable to want to understand the costs involved so you can be prepared and plan accordingly. Best of luck to you both.

solo's iyawo,

You should be asking this question in a consultation with an immigration attorney - an immigration attorney who has had experience dealing with the US IV unit in Nigeria. The 'yardstick' for for fraud at IV posts goes something like this - law fraud, medium fraud, high fraud, Nigeria.

Not every Nigerian visa applicant runs into trouble, but a significant number do including a high percentage of the VJ participants who are dealing with Nigeria - typically US women with Nigerian fiances or husbands. Your fiance may need all the help he can get presenting his case and himself to the consular office who will process his visa application.
