Dallas lockbox or CSC

Hi Everyone. I completed our I-129F and I sent it to the CSC servicing center for my state (OR). I just noticed that in the VJ flowchart it states:

"U.S. Petitioner sends compiled I-129F package to the USCIS Dallas Lockbox which will forward the package for processing."

Does this mean It will get returned to me or???

Many Regards... Ed

Here are the instructions: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-129finstr.pdf

"File Form I-129F at the USCIS Dallas Lockbox facility." Page 5

No idea if it will get returned to you, but you clearly didn't send it to the right place. I'm curious, where did you see you had to send it to CSC?

Hi...

After putting the package together, I went to make sure I had the correct address and when i did a search for which address to send the I-129F to I used this link:

it will be returned.. new mailing instructions went into place last year. If you are looking for definitive confirmation of what you are doing, the best place is the website of the organization (in this case the USCIS) not a search on another website that might accidentally return old information (nature of search engines) based on the first hit of your search criteria.

YMMV

I totally agree with payxibka. Better to look and trust the official instructions than a 5 years old topic…

1. Look first for the official USCIS instructions and follow them.

2. Look at the VJ K-1 guides.

If something is unclear, make a research on the VJ topics with the VJ search bar. If your case/question is not complicated, you would have found all your answers already.

Anyway, sending the package is not a huge bad problem, it will just delay your process (absolutely no idea if the USCIS would have the idea to transfer it to the Dallas lockbox, or keep it and process it anyway…).

As it looks like you didn't know the USCIS pdf instructions for I-129F, I advise you to look at it and check if you did everything ok and included all the needed documents the first time, in case your letter is returned to you. :)

Wow, it looks like you were relying on OLD information.

Here is a link to the VJ news located at the top of the website, dated 12 August 2010, that speaks about the address change. In any case, ALWAYS find the most current forms and information from the official USCIS website. According to the news article, your petition will likely be returned to you for proper filing.

Good luck.

I contacted USCIS today and this is a tough lesson learned. They will either 1. Return the I-129F to myself via mail for correct routing or 2. Forward it to the Dallas lockbox. Worse case scenario is they can "hold" it for up to 30 days prior to returning or sending it on.
