Good morning VJ! I have a question. About a week ago, I got an update on the USCIS Web site saying, "On February 2, 2012, we transferred this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS to another office for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action." Then came the hard copy in the mail indicating that they had transferred my case to the California Service Center. Seven days later, the status on the Web site said "The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office." Now, my question is does the most recent status mean that they had taken it out of CSC and transferred it to a local USCIS office, or does it mean it's still with CSC? Your input will be much appreciated. Thank you!

Mine said the same thing and I didn't know it was to CSC until I got the hard copy.

The second notice means it has been transferred/received and is being processed.

I got an agent and she said mine had gone to CSC on 12/01/2011 and was now at the Minneapolis office which is my local office so perhaps they get sent to CSC and then to local offices

No the OP's situation is standard. The first one is telling you they sent it to CSC, the second basically is letting you know CSC received it. If it was sent to your local office the letter will actually list the local office name (in my case Des Moines, IA).
