maybe this is a dumb question but my fiance is sending the K1 tomorrow. what kind of envelope should you put it in??

she is asking not me

put it in an A4 sized envelope so you dont have to fold anything

US post office Priority Mail envelope. (Free at the post office). It's made of light cardboard. If it won't fit in that, she is sending waaaaay too much stuff.

USPS Priority Tyvek Envelope.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

I-129F approved in 180 days from NOA1 date. (195 days from filing to NOA2 in hand)

Interview took 224 days from I-129F NOA1 date. (241 days from filing petition until visa in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until POE: 285 days

AOS process, December 2011 > July 2012

EAD/AP Approval took 51 days from NOA1 date to email update. (77 days from filing until EAD/AP in hand)

AOS Approval took 206 days from NOA1 date to email update. (231 days from filing until greencard in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until greencard in hand: 655 days

Agree with the others who recommended the USPS Priority Mail envelope. Make sure your fiancé does delivery confirmation, too!

USCIS Receipt of I-129F: January 24, 2012 | Petition Approval: June 15, 2012 (No RFEs)
Interview: October 24, 2012 - Review | Visa Delivered: October 31, 2012



Part Two: Entry and Adjusting Status:

POE: November 18, 2012 (at SFO) - Review
Wedding: December 1, 2012 | Social Security: New cards received on December 7, 2012.
AOS Package (I-485/I-765/I-131) NOA1: February 19, 2013 | Biometrics Appt.: March 18, 2013
AP/EAD Approved: April 29, 2013 | Card Received: May 6, 2013 | AOS Interview Appt.: May 16, 2013 - Approved Review Card Received: May 24, 2013
