Can the company get me an H1B for a different state than where its offices are? For example, if they claim they need a professional in that state.

If not, can I spend most of my time in another state as long as I maintain a residence in the state the company is in?

H1B is a visa to the USA, not a particular state. The company can send you whereever they need you.

This sounds like visa fraud to me. The OP asked if the company can "claim" they need someone in another state, which indicated they actually don't need them. Isn't this a trick of fake H1B companies, that falsify need and/or qualifications?

AOS for my husband

ROC:

Not sure what you consider Visa fraud. The company is in a certain state, they want me to work with them because they think I'm perfect for the role. However, my boyfriend lives in another state, so I'd prefer to be there. The company said it's nice if they have someone in that state, so it *is* good for the company, just not absolutely required.

Sounds like a long commute.
