I went alone to mine. It was very quick and painless. A total waste of money for your fiance to travel to the interview in Montreal or Vancouver.

US EMBASSY in Canada prefers you go alone. They have no room in the waiting room and its generally jammed so bad people have to stand.

I will ask some of my fellow learned colleagues from the Guangzhou China group to chime in.

It is my understanding that I cannot accompany my fiancee to her interview at the US Consulate in Guangzhou. However, I suspect that policy may change from consulate to consulate. (I hope it does!}.

It will be interesting to see the responses.

The waiting room in vancouver is super tiny. I think there are about 15 chairs to sit and wait and the room is about 15X15. I wouldn't bring your fiance(e), since it isn't necessary anyway.

I wasn't allowed in when my fiance had her interview a few weeks ago in Armenia. She made them aware of my presence outside, but it's not clear whether it helped.
