What are AdChoices?

The AdChoices icon appears on sites that use Google's AdSense program to show ads. Ads pay bills. From the usage of this site I would imagine his usage bill is high. I hope the ads pay the bills so users can keep receiving this free very helpful forum.

Google lets you edit the categories associated with your browser, or opt out of personalized advertising, through Google's Ads Preferences Manager.

Turn ads off. The only people who would actually benefit from some of the services (I used that term loosely) advertised here on VJ are people who can't figure out how to do that.

It's weird I've had them turned off for years via Adblock Plus and Noscript in Firefox. They just popped up in the last week. Not just this site, but another visa site I visit in Thailand. Maybe it's a Firefox 9.0 issue. The seem to be releasing a new version monthly. Not sure what's up with that.

Another odd thing. When I click on Portals at the top, I now have to choose Thailand from the drop down menu. It always took me right to the Thailand portal before.

I use adblock myself and don't get the ads but I use Chrome.

Must admit I forgot this site has Ads until I saw this thread.

Apparently Firefox 9 had some issues with Ad Block. I upgraded to Firefox 10 and the ads are gone.
