Interview date scheduled for... May 3! It's a little late, relative speaking, but I'll take it!I hope the Oath ceremony follows shortly thereafter. Can you travel out of the country as an approved citizen, but minus the oath? I guess I should search the boards!

You will become a citizen only after the oath, so you definitely can travel before your oath.

You can and you just have to mention it during the oath ceremony the dates you were out.

Hello:

I had my interview/oath today. My appointment was at 8 am but I was called like around 9:30 am and I was out in 15 minutes. The IO was really young but very professional; she asked me to read "Who lives in the White House" and to write "The president lives in the White House". The questions were: Who was the first president?, Two holidays, state's governor, and I don't remember the rest. I didn't make it to the first oath ceremony which was at 12:30 but I was called for the second one at 2:30 pm. It was a long wait but it was worth it!!!! I already have an appointment for the passport on Friday since I have to travel back to Germany ASAP.

Thanks to all on this forum.... it really helps to see another cases.

Hello:

I had my interview/oath today. My appointment was at 8 am but I was called like around 9:30 am and I was out in 15 minutes. The IO was really young but very professional; she asked me to read "Who lives in the White House" and to write "The president lives in the White House". The questions were: Who was the first president?, Two holidays, state's governor, and I don't remember the rest. I didn't make it to the first oath ceremony which was at 12:30 but I was called for the second one at 2:30 pm. It was a long wait but it was worth it!!!! I already have an appointment for the passport on Friday since I have to travel back to Germany ASAP.

Thanks to all on this forum.... it really helps to see another cases.

Finger priting at this stage is bummer manias. I haven't received FP notice yet and expecting it would get waived. Hope to get IL instead of FP letter soon.

Also I am one of few from January filer who doesnt have IL letter yet:(

we actually saw there that we would get mail soon.

Although the on-line one said we were being scheduled for interview.

Which is why we were bummed to see the FP note instead.

As for the finger prints...I read somewhere 15 months is the limit of validity.

My wife was last printed for her 10 yr in Dec 2010 so march 2012 was the 15 month limit.

Perhaps you can check yours the same way?

Got my IL yesterday. Interview will be on April 19th.... The Interview Letter itself says to bringn your spouse's birth cert, naturalization cert, or CERTIFICATE OF CITIZENSHIP.

The attached INTERVIEW DOCUMENT CHECKLIST, however, section 3A says to bring: "... birth certificate, naturalization certificate, certificate of citizenship, your spouse's valid US passport, or Form FS240....."

Now..my citizenship certificate is in storage in a safe somewhere in another city. it'll cost about $300 to go fly there and get it. My passport is readily handy. Does anyone know why one paper says to bring Cert of Citizenship, while another says Valid US Passport will do?

My wife's N400 application is now placed for interview. We just checked on line and it says, on March 14, your N400 was placed in line for interview scheduling. The journey is almost over. Thank you Jesus.
