Sent in my wife's AOS packet with EAD and AP on the 7th and just got the e-mail notification today on the 11th... It was transferred to the National Benefits Center.

Hopefully all goes well. I was super thorough with the documents. :)

Why do I feel as if I'm the only January filer

Biometrics letter received today for my appointment on Feb 10th in Hackensack, NJ.

We have our appointment on feb 10th also. we got quick replies. Im not sweating this stage since Judy is already here. We got married after about 60 days

and then Christmas was coming up. Then just before Xmas I started looking at whats next. The advise was to apply before the visa ran out. I said #######.

well something similar that begins with an s. I hate doing this type of paperwork so I had to hold my own feet to the fire to get it done.

I was glad that I had listened to the advice that you keep a copy of everything you gave them previously since most of what they we asking for we already

gave em.

The advice about the I 693 seems to be it's better to send one in. Im winging it. If they ask me for it Ill do it then.

We're in Texas, I took Judy to get her state ID today. After waiting in line we had to go back home and get the 797 which we just got in the mail confirming

that we had applied for adjustment of status. He said if we had tried to get one earlier they would make the ID expire on the same day as the visa.

their website says that a passport with a visa is all they need and it dosnt matter if its expired. It is actually logical that they would want the 797 but then

it would also be logical for their website to say that. anyway she's got her state id, Last week I tried putting her on a couple of bank accounts and they wanted

more than her passport. Now we've got two.

I don't expect her to need to get a job anytime soon but I applied for the work authorization since they said this stage has the possibility of taking a very long time.

You're not but there are those unaware of a group like this. Lure them with chocolate chip cookies into here if you see a January filer asking a question(if it's relevant, of course). :) Good luck on your AOS.
