Consulate Review: Haiti
Review Topic: General Review
Event Description
Review Date : September 16, 2011
Embassy Review : In the Embassy when he entered they asked if he was there for a tourist visa, Green card visa, or k-1. Afterwards they sent him to another area where had to sit and wait. There were several cases there at the consul.

When he was called up to give his papers they asked him for his interview letter, medical paper, and all receipts from transfers.

From there they sent him to get his finger prints when he was done he had to sit and wait to be called. When he was called up he brought all his paper work/proof with him.

The questions they asked him were not difficult but if you don't answer confidently they will ask you more questions. If you are stressed or nervous they will think you are not being truthful. Also my fiance noticed that the consular began the interview in English but finished speaking creole because he told them that I (his fiance) speak creole and my parents were born in Haiti.

The Interview:

Please raise you hand to swear to tell the truth

What is your name?
Who is sending for you in Haiti?
What is your fiance's name?
When was the last time your where together?
How many times did you meet?
When you got engaged were you parent's present?
Did her parents meet your parents?
Did you and your fiance talk about how you will get married?
Will you families be involved with the wedding?

Thank you for the interview. They gave him instructions to go pay $10 at Haiti messenger Safe trip and not to purchase a plan ticket until they return his passport.javascript:emoticon('')javascript:emoticon('')

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
