hello can we send both packet IV & AOS in the same package but w/ 2 separate envelopes in it? And btw, I'll be sending it here from the Philippines thru express mail would that be fine? thanks

Yup, they can be mailed in the same package. Lots of people do it. And yes, make sure they're in separate envelopes and marked properly.

And sending it from the Philippines should be fine. As long as NVC gets it, they don't really care where it comes from.

I just paid our aos fee awhile ago... The portal says it's "IN PROCESS" my question is when can I be able to print out the barcoded sheet needed for my AOS? thanks

Once the bill says 'PAID'. Then you can print out the cover sheet, attach it to the AOS package, and mail it

As soon as I paid my AOS and IV bills I was able to print the barcode sheets from the receipt pages...as in 5 minutes after I set up the payment.

Is that not normal?

That happened to me too. Which was nice, as I live australia and the mail takes about 7 days to get to the NVC. So I printed it and sent the package while the payment was clearing. I had no problems. A bit of a risk though if something goes wrong with the payment.

The cover letter did not change after the payment cleared.

AOS Packaged delivered to NVC on 01/13 and IV Package in the mail and on the way to NVC...Barring any unforseen probs, How many days does it take NVC to complete case

My IV bill shows PAID this morning!

I'm almost ready to send in my two packets.

Waiting for a letter from the bank in Japan showing my account information for the past year. I should have that near the beginning of next week and then the AOS packet will be sent.

For the IV, I'm waiting for a letter from the city office showing some info that my wife couldn't remember exactly for the IV application. That should be here by Monday at the latest, and then the IV packet will be sent.

I mailed the application for a PCC from the UK yesterday. I'm going to submit without it. It's not definite whether they will ask for it since her time there falls between 6 and 12 months. If I get a checklist, I figure I can mail it as soon as I have the certificate, which means I really will have wasted no time. Probably faster that way since they will have already gone through the rest of the packet and (hopefully) approved everything. If I get a checklist, I will also see if it's possible to bring it to the interview and not send it to NVC, although I'm sure you're all thinking "Good luck!" sarcastically about my chances of getting that done.

Did you read what Saylin advised me to do? Write a note on the cover letter asking them to complete the case even though the pcc is missing, and say you'll bring it to interview.

I did that, can send you the exact wording so you can adapt it to your situation. Then in the civil documents, I added a page where the Turkish PCC should have been, saying "Turkish Police certificate: please read note on cover letter" in big bold letters.

Same here. I got access to the Print Coversheet button as soon as we paid. I didn't send anything before the status got to paid though, didn't want to risk have original documents rejected and sent back.

See my signature; we had an RFE, but the time from delivery to the first review was over 2 weeks.

I was thinking about doing something similar, but the only thing that makes me hesitant is that it might not be required for my wife and I don't want to give anyone at NVC any suggestions about things to ask for that aren't included.

I don't even know if it's possible to request to bring a police certificate to the embassy in lieu of sending it to NVC. If I got a checklist, who would I talk to that would have the authority to ok something like that? Definitely not a normal operator.

I'm leaning toward just taking my chances and hoping they don't ask for it at this stage. If they send a checklist, it would come by email, right? I'll have the police certificate on hand in about 2 weeks. I could send it immediately and it would take about 3 days to get to NVC. Since that would likely be the last piece, I would imagine it would only take a day or two to complete the case after receiving it.

You would speak to a supervisor about that.

If they have your email, then yes, it would come by email. You can also check the AVR before you would receive an email.

I would imagine it would only take a day or two to complete the case after receiving it.

I had to submit a response to a checklist and in my case, it took 3 days from submission to receiving the Case Complete. One important caveat though, I was able to submit my response electronically, you will not have that option. Because you have to submit any checklist response by snail mail, it still has to be received and matched with the file before processing continues.

Just paper clip them together. Do not punch holes. And yes, it's suggested to write the case number on the top right of all pages of each package (except the bar code cover sheet and the cover letter). If you don't want to write in pen, you can always use pencil. Or even write the case number on a post-it note and attach one to each page.
