I just read that documents translated need to be notarized. I had never read this before and we have already submitted all documents with translations to the NVC. They never said anything about it before or that there were problems with the papers not being notarized. We have my husbands interview on Wednesday in Ciudad Juarez and non of our translated papers are notarized. Does anyone know if there is a place to notarize the documents in Juarez or if you HAVE to have them notarized?????? I am sort of freaking out right now!!! THanks for any help!!!

The only document I'm aware of that needs translation is a Birth Certificate. But you are far past that in the process. As far a Notories. I see no requirements.

I could be wrong.

Unless the documents are in a language other than english or spanish, they don't need to be translated. Notarization only ensures that the person signing the document is who they say they are, it will do nothing to validate the translation.

You do not need anything notarized.

This is all you need for translations going through USCIS: http://www.visajourney.com/content/translations

Papers in Juarez can be Spanish or English. They are all bilingual there.

If your documents are in English or Spanish, no translation is required at the consulate level. USCIS requires that translations be certified which is often confused with notarization.
