it is only cancelled if they die, become usa citizen, or get deported or worked enough hours in 10 years.

Are you thinking that the sponsor may be wanting to pull the support papers AFTER you already have your green card? This isn't possible.

They can only pull the support papers BEFORE you get the green card.

If you have your green card there is nothing the petitioner can do to remove an affidavit of support.

Yup, Inky's nailed it.

Basically, there's a window of time prior to the first green card being awarded, where the petitioner can pull , withdraw, the I-864.

Isn't done after green card issuance, alas, except for the reasons listed in post #2.

For marriage-based green card, the sponsor CANNOT write to USCIS to cancel/withdraw the I-864 sponsorship ,right ?

The applicant already got 10-year greencard.

They can write, but it won't actually work to cancel the sponsorship. The government isn't going to say "oh, ok - you're off the hook". It doesn't work that way. I think someone already posted the only ways to get rid of the obligation (citizenship, leaving the country, death of the peitioner or beneficiary, enough work credits - things like that).

It doesn't matter on what basis the GC was obtained (work, marriage, family, lottery, etc). Once the GC is approved the I-864 is approved and binding. It cannot be withdrawn. It will be cancelled only if any of the situations explained in the I-864 occur.
