got an interview date!!! thanks for all your help Saylin and everyone else!!

To quotes a movie, “So how does it happen, great love? Nobody knows... but what I can tell you is that it happens in the blink of an eye. One Moment you're enjoying your life, and the next you're wondering how you ever lived without them.” I felt I found something with Kieu that is rare in life... true love.

My partner rang the NVC this morning for an update, and the guy on the other end was extremely rude and told her not to call back for 20 days. :crying:

Anyone know if it's possible to have a case delayed from calling too often? We really want to keep abreast of what's going on, but we don't want to annoy the wrong person and have our case put to the bottom of the pile!

Don't listen to the operator. Just call back tomorrow and every day until you get the good news.

Like you, I called once while waiting for my interview date to be scheduled and received an extremely rude person. I had called earlier that afternoon, and then DOS later near supper. And right before bed, I wanted to call NVC again, just for the heck of it. And that's when I got the rude person. He was saying that I shouldn't be calling so often, that I had already called that day, etc etc. I just listened to him ramble on for a few minutes, thanked him for his time and hung up. I called back the very next day, without worrying at all what he said.

No, calling once or twice a day won't hurt you or delay your case. The operators have no control of impacting your case like that (as far as I know). But, I wouldn't suggest calling every HOUR cause then something might get done about it. But if you're just calling once or twice a day, definitely nothing to worry about.

But i am sure i have sent Original marriage cerificate issued by government authories. I have sent color photocopy of it also. Dont know whether they got confused between Original and Color photocopy.

i dont know why they are telling original cerificate is missing. How can i clarify this to NVC officier.

Congratulations!!

We got also our interview appointment scheduled today!! The funny thing though is that as we thought our NVC stage would take longer, I flew to US to visit my hubby and will be leaving only after our currently scheduled interview appointment - which is already on January 4th! - so we need to reschedule. Medical done already also, so just figuring out now the new interview date.

It's really funny, now when I'm here with my hubby, all has started going super fast and smooth! :P

I'd suggest first to call and talk to at least three other operators. If they ALL say that the original certificate is missing, tell them you'd like to talk to a supervisor. The operator might not say this is allowed, so call back (and back) until you get an operator that puts you through to a supervisor. Once you have a supervisor, explain that you know 100% that you sent an original marriage certificate and included a photocopy of said document. Ask politely if they can review your case for you to dismiss this false RFE. Good luck.
