Good Evening VJers!

So I have been reading and researching and gathing all the needed information so that I would be good and ready to move quickly after receiving my NOA2. BUT then I got the hard copy of my NOA2 in the mail and it says that my case has been approved and was forwarded to the listed Consulate. I was expecting it to say forwarded to the NVC. So any idea why it reads like that? It might be nothing and this is normal but I wasn't sure so I wanted to ask to see if it is in fact normal. I also want to know who I need to follow up with in the event that too much time passes and I don't hear from anything. So any details about what comes next would be great too. I THINK my fiance should recieve an e-mail with instructions but I just want to be sure.

Just wondering where I am because I am a bit disoriented at the moment!!

Thanks! :)

Hey Kim yes it does that say that but it has to go to NVC and from there they will enter in to their system and you will get a Case number starting from ISL but it will take about 10 to 12 days that NVC will receive your documents and then 2 weeks more to leave to the US embassy if you are lucky ones it might leave in couple of days all you gotta do is to keep calling NVC call NVC next week to know if they receive your case from USCIS and make sure you give them Usman's correct email address cos US embassy will email him Packet 3.5

ALL cases go to the consulate VIA the NVC, so will yours. No exceptions.

Are you sure we have to call them ?? Because on 20th I got my NOA 2 and it says on it that we should allow 30 days for processing !

Plus do we have to tell them beneficiary's email address because I think they already have it on papers right ?

I called the USCIS Customer Service last Friday about an address change and I was told by the rep that once I get an approval notice it goes directly to the Consulate and the Consulate will contact my fiancee. I double checked with him about the NVC and was told that it DOES NOT go to NVC , directly to the consulate. I am confused myself. I guess we live and learn:)

EVERY, ALL, 100% of petitions go through NVC before heading to the Embassy. There are NO exceptions to this policy.

At NVC several additional world wide data bases DHL to the respective Embassy specified in the I-129F.

USCIS misinformed you about this process and even if you receive a notice stating that the petition will be sent directly to the Embassy, it is in error. ALL petitions go to NVC first!

call all you want, we don't call it the mis-information line for nothing. all petitions go through nvc. period.

YMMV
