Update on my case - it got sent to the embassy today. It seems like this additional processing added 2+ weeks - the approximate timeline was:

NVC receive - 11-23-2011

NVC says "processed, waiting to send to embassy" - 11-29-2011

NVC says "in additional processing" - 11-30-2011

NVC says "finished, on way to embassy" - 12-15-2011

That's great news! Glad to see the time have come down :)

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

One step closer. This nightware will be over one day... :)

It will. And though we enter the waiting in line thing a couple more times, in future you will be able to wait together. That really takes the sting out of it :)

We had our case get to NVC on Jan 19. I called on Jan 27 and was told that our case is in additional process. I hope this does not take long. Also this is for a K1 Visa and i did not ask the girl if it was in AP she just told me that it was in additional processing

I think they say it's in AP just to cover themselves if there's a delay.

Our's was in the NVC on the 24th, out on the 26th. I called the DOS on the 25th and they told me it was in AP. Called today and they told me it left the NVC on the 26th.

I'm fairly sure if they say it's in AP, it's in AP. We were in AP at NVC for nearly 8 weeks. We asked if it was AP, and were told yes.

Times have come down now since then. By a lot. Hope they send your petition on soon!

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

My petition arrived at NVC on March 9, 2012, was held in AP, and then sent to the embassy on March 21, 2012 (a week and half after arriving at NVC). That's only 8 business days. The wait time has definitely come down!!!

Just wanted to post that in case someone else was wondering about the timeline for K-1's in AP at NVC.

So, I have been trying to call NVC the past 2 days (603-334-0700), but no phone I use seems to get past the dial tone. But they did return my e-mail:

"Dear Sir/Madam:

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

This petition is currently undergoing additional processing. We will

send further instructions once this processing is completed."

So, the question is ??? The NVC appears to be the black hole for most information.

Answers are vague and according to the previous thread on this, time is not predictable.

What exactly do they do after the National Security Office (Homeland Security)has cleared you?

Is there a way to talk with a human who actually will discuss your case with you?

Or is this one of those things you just pray about?

See? AP at NVC was fast for you - only 10 days total (from yer timeline)

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

The post you quoted was from 10 November 2011, and they never updated the thread. They don't seem to have any content either. His/her timeline states the dates below, which would be 6 days, and that is even better! Sure beats nearly 8 weeks, I can say that for sure

NVC Received : 2011-11-08

NVC Left : 2011-11-14

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

uh huh - 10 days from NVC received to IV Unit received. I wonder, truly, what all the fuss was about, back then ?

What fuss are you referring to. For the purpose of tracking K1's at NVC, we have always used NVC received, and NVC sent. Nothing whatever to do with how long they are taking to get to the consulates. This was ever only about K1's and how long they were/are spending at NVC.

what fuss = I-129F's being put into Administrative Processing @ NVC.

Sorry, I thought you knew of this.

My apologies if that's not the case.
