Ok so my case for my CR1/IR1 visa for my husband was completed on Oct 21st and they are saying that they cannot guarantee a day for December...I recently heard from a friend of mine that we can email the embassy and get them to expedite my case so that we can get an interview date sooner...has anyone done that for the Dominican Republic? If so how is it done and what exactly do I have to do to get my interview date sooner?

I was going to ask what is your reason to expedite.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

I guess it would be that we have a daughter together that hasnt seen her daddy since she was 10 months old..shes going on 2 yrs old right now...and I've been a single parent through this whole process...I miss him soo much..we both do..and now shes constantly wanting to see him..asking for him all the time...she even wants him to hold her when we see him on the cam..its really very painful to tell her he cant right now...its jsut hard without him.

That won't qualify as a valid reason for an expedite.

You always can ask the embassy. I guess it is best that you (as the USC) write an email stating about the case and asking that you really would appreciate if your husband can get a date in December because your daughter would so love him to be with you for Christmas. Something like that. Tell about your daughter and her wish to have daddy home for Christmas.

If you are lucky you have a CO who is compassionate especially with the child and you get an early date.

Wishing you luck.

If it was that easy then everybody would be doing it.

So it would become pointless.

There is no harm in trying , you might fall into someone who is compassionate and get your wishes. Goodluck

Well my case was completed on Oct 20th. And a fellow VJ member told me that they will be assigning interview dates for December now in the second week of November so be on the lookout. Apparently appointments are assigned here by NVC and then sent to Dominican Republic. I am hoping for a December interview as well. Let's see what happens!!! Good luck.
