For now, keep in contact with DOS to know when your case was received by London.

And while you're waiting, get both packages ready to go. You'll either have to mail the two packages directly to London or they'll ask for you to bring it to the interview.

Once it's been confirmed that your case was received at London (which will probably be sometime next week), call up London and ask what you have to do next.

Good luck!

A tip: get a paper and pen and write out everything you need to do. This might help you visualize everything you need to do and what's been done. Once something gets done, cross it off :)

And yes, get all packages and needed forms/documentation sent over from the US so you have it in your possession, ready to go.

Opalie, great update! Hope your expedite is approved! Tell us when you hear!

Yay, finally! kicking.gif

You can hear today from an operator that your case is closed. It depends if they're finished reviewing your I-864 or not. You can also hear from the AVR whether your case is closed or not, although this way is a little slower as I've noticed the AVR takes a few days to update. And lately, I've seen a few people not doing EP getting emails saying their case is complete. So you MIGHT get an email as well, not sure.

I called and listened to the AVR and it said a Check Letter Response was received October 6th and then I called and asked the Operator if they had reviewed the I-864 yet and she said no. I sent the I-864 the day before the DS-230 which has been reviewed. What does Check Letter Response mean? Thanks.

I think it means your case will be closed in 1 day or later today. Call them at 10pm and speak to an operator.

Check out this link. It has old information but still good and easy to read quickly

Ok I have a crazy question...again

I want to know if countries share nvc numbers or if there can be a CRO2011501010 and a CAS2011501010

But first you should understand why I want to know this information.

I am looking at egypts interview schedule for October. I see many numbers. Numbers from 2005 till July 2011 for fiance visa apps. So I am trying to figure out if there are 50,000 egyptian visa interviews before me right now or if it refers to 50,000 apps from ALL countries.

I hope this makes sense. I have searched for it but no where does it say if countries share the numbers or if each country has there own. Thank you

I believe check letter response is the DS-230. So it means they accepted the IV package. Call back again later tonight, near midnight, and see if they've reviewed your I-864.

Ok I have way too much time to think since NVC has a long weekend. So, I have thought of a new question.

People write how many days it took to get thru NVC. But my case took awhile to get a case number as many others did. So, when is the right time to calculate how many days it took at NVC?

I got my NOA2 on Sept 11th.

Went to NVC on Sept 12--some operators said received on 12 and some said 15th.

I called 2 times a day Or more for my number and I finally got it on Sept 30th.

So, do I count the days I waited for a case number as the days at nvc? Or do i start counting from the day i got the numbers?

Thank you
