My fiance is in hong kong and may go to macau. I have been using calling card everyday to call her and I kept all my calling cards. the problem is, the calling card doesn't show that I called her number but that I called the calling card. I have phone record of calling the calling card. Will this be a problem with the us embassy in hong kong, if i mail all the calling cards to my fiancee so she can show of proof? we don't email much because she doesn't have access to internet. what to do???

Find out if you can get a detailed record. Call the number on the card. The CARDS themselves prove nothing, neither does calling the cards "access number"

Change calling cards. Google "pennyboss" and check out all the cards, rates and choose one that gives you detailed records.

Remember that you are in a process that lasts 4 years or more and requires you to detail your relationship with evidence several times, make sure to conduct yourself accordingly. This means it will not always be the cheapest or easiest route. But she is worth it.

From when you file the I-129f until she becomes a citizen, 4 years IF it goes fast. I hope you took something more from my post than that?

You are going to need proof of relationship for the AOS, RoC and her citizenship (less for that though)

I understand, but once she comes here on fiancee visa, I don't need calling card to prove relationship. What I mean is, If I start the process today. I havent used the calling cards you described. I just want to have enough proof to bring her here on the k1 visa so we can marry. I mean don't I also first have to show the uscis here in usa that I have relationship. how can I do that? I only used regular calling cards :(

I also just called the calling card customer service, they said unless a lawyer gives them a written suppoena, they cant give detail account of phone numbers I called.....

then change cards. The ones you have are useless. You can submit them if you want but I do not think they will be considered. If you have other good evidence I wouldn't sweat it too much, if phone records are the ONLY thing you have I doubt detailed call logs would help anyway.

Also stop thinking in boxes...Visa first, etc. This is a continous, homogenous process and you move from one phase to anther without stopping. There are no breaks, no breathers, no rest periods. You begins collecting evidence for AOS the minute she arrives and for the RoC simultaeneously and continously for two years. When she gets citizenship and has a US passport IN HAND, then you can go in the backyard and burn the boxes and boxes of evidence you kept.

Absolutely agree... One part of the process molds itself into the next and doesn't end for years, so the more proof of certain events that your provide is better.

Hopefully, you have photos, emails, snail mails and e-cards that will also build your case of ongoing relationship. If not, start sending emails to build a communication record. (I understand she doesn't have internet at home, but aren't there internet cafes for her to have some internet access?).

As for a calling card with good rates, try Rebtel. You can obtain detailed calling records that show date, length of call duration and phone number.

Since you have to prove to total strangers that you have a legitimate relationship; you NEED to generate all kinds of proof of the relationship.

So as suggested, stop with just the calling card and generate all types of other evidence. Send letters, gifts, use Skype, send emails, etc.

You did not fill in your timeline, you should. NO you do not have to show USCIS you have a relationship until after she is here.

For the petition you need to show you have MET IN PERSON. Phone records do not and can not do that. You will need those for the interview, you will need other things (not phone records) for the AOS after you are married.

You need FIRST to read and understand the instructions and ask questions here on items you do not understand. Nothing in the instructions for the petition indicates sending phone records or any other "evidence of relationship"

Pay attention to what Gary says here. The only emendation that I would offer is to save all immigration-related material until two years past the date when she's granted citizenship, and then hold your bonfire (or weenie-roast).

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

we don't email much because she doesn't have access to internet. what to do???

Not much but you do. When you have a chance, take a snapshot. Or she should do it since she will be the one who will be interviewed. You don't need to have a screenshot everyday but it will help if you do.

Remember, the suggestion above is only needed when she is interviewed. You still have a chance to produce it. In the meantime, produce evidence that you have met in person: Airline ticket, passport stamps, receipts: hotel, credit card statements showing, etc

Happy New Year!

You said that she doesn't have internet access then it is up to you to do the best to prove the relationship. I guess almost everyone in USA has internet access at home. You can use Skype, download the application, buy credit or unlimited plan, and then call her. Skype kept all records when you call cellphone or landlines. . You just printed it and send it to her. I call my fiance by Skype using unlimited plan when he is not on Skype talking to me using video call. And he can calling me back when I put call forwarding on my Skype directly to my cellphone. Maybe you can buy her an iPhone that has Skype on it.innocent.gif if she can't connect to internet by laptop.

One thing about the K1 beneficiary is that we go to the Embassy over prepared that we ended up frustrated cause the CO would be after the important documents like the I-134, the BC, NBI and CENOMAR ( I am talking about here in the Philippines). Pictures would be important as well but not much with the emails, chatlogs or call history, i had loads of it but the CO didn't even bother to look at them. You will be fine as long as you have in you the essential docs that are needed.

I would think somewhere in Hong Kong there has to be an Internet Cafe......it's not necessarily a backwoods, non-international small town!!

I have been using a card named "La Fiesta" that is supposedly for getting good rates to Latin America (my fiance lives in Bogota). It does NOT give detailed usage, but I'm going to submit the call history information anyway.

Upon reading this thread I purchased the "Rebtel" phone card because it gives a detailed call description. I just used my one "free call" and it worked just fine so I purchased a $25.00 card. I went to look at my account and under call history it shows my Fiance's name, and it shows the local number (here in the USA) that is assigned to her number, but it does not show her number in Bogota that I am calling. Is this fine/normal? I want to be sure that moving forward I have documented proof that I'm calling her. When I accumulate more calls and print this information page / call history, will this be acceptable?
