Today, we cross the finish line!! My wife is due to arrive in a few hours. Last week, she went and visited her family (I was happy she did). We cross the finish line on our visa journey today and continue on the journey of life together!!

At the beginning of this month (September 2013), the online forms DS-260 and DS-261 have replaced the DS-230 and DS-3032 respectively. When you get your case number and IIN from the NVC, you will also need the Beneficiary Identification Number (BIN) in order to use the online forms. So, when sending your OPTIN email, you will not attach a DS-3032 to it and when you send your PDF file of civil documents plus any other evidence you want to be in the file for the immigrant visa application, you will not include the DS-230.

Another new change:

When sending the email to NVCElectronic@state.gov you will write ENROLL instead of OPTIN.

I have a stupid question.

1. What is the AOS cover sheet for EP? I understand for EP we don't need the barcoded cover sheet, then what is the cover sheet we ought to use? Or is it the cover letter we write about what docs are sent in?

2. Do we creat physical folders or just make PDF directly attached in the email?

Forget about question 2. I found specific info on NVC website. Now I have a better picture as how to send docs in.

But if you could still answer question 1, it will be much appreciated. I m sure that is a stupid question. just want to be sure.

Sorry for the late reply and your question is not stupid. The AOS cover sheet is printed out from the payment portal that has a bar code on it. I do remember reading at the time I was going through this that this specific sheet was not required but I sent it anyway as a "belt and suspenders" approach.

Hi Ryan, thank you very much for this thread, i have been following it as a guide for my application which is very similar to yours, it's a tremendous help.

However i am a bit confused at my next step, do you have any idea? Here is what I have done so far:

1) NVC # + Invoice received.

2) AOS invoice received + paid, shows as paid online

3) DS-260 choice of agent completed

4) Sent ENROLL email for electronic processing (5 days ago), still no response

Here are my questions:

1) I am told to pay the IV bill but when I log online, the IV bill area is blank and no way to pay for it

2) From your thread i have a good idea what to send for AOS package but NVC has not told me to send anything or even mentioned about sending AOS package. Is that normal? What should I do at this point?

Answers:

1. Wait it out, it may not come through until after the DS-261 is accepted.
2. Don't wait for the NVC to tell to send the package, you will be waiting a very long time if you do. You have already paid the bill, so once you have that GZO number, email the package.

Today (the 14th), the payment portal showed the IV bill was PAID.

To keep the size of the file down, I scanned the white books as JPEG files and then inserted them into a PDF document.

Just as I did with when I emailed the AOS documents, I put the GZO case number in the subject line and after the case number, I wrote, "Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration"

The package itself was composed of the following:

• coversheet from payment portal
• cover letter
• DS-230 parts I and II
• supplemental sheet
• copy of my wife's passport bio page
• two passport style pictures of my wife, how I did this is I scanned the front side and back side of the pictures and inserted them into the file
• marriage certificate white book
• birth certificate white book
• police certificate white book

Just as before, I wrote a brief statement below the petitioner/beneficiary information.

Hi Ryan: i saw you send supplemental sheet in IV packet, is that proof of ongoing relationship? just same as I130 package? and add the latest proof, is that right?

I am still waiting for GZO, it says the GZO becomes slow recently! someone says it takes almost one month! can't believe it!
