Hello Have a 2 part question today ,

#1Received my email and text today from USCIS that they have received my AOS package ( including all AOS & EAD forms along with the $1070) . My question is if anyone that has recently filed for the same what time frame have you experienced as far as receiving the EAD card??... Wifey is extremely eager to work and we have had a job offer and she is a bit frustrated that she can’t work yet ?? and I feel bad as staying at home 9-5 does suck anyone who can share their recent time line eon this would be greatly appreciated

#2- My wife’s State ID card was issued but has since expired as it was to expire the same time as her k-1 expired this I understand and we have married within the timeframe my question is how or when does she ,or is she able to get another ID Card from the state that has a longer life to it as a normal us citizen would receive I’m guessing this has something to do with the AOS?. rather than the 3 months the k-1 allows ?..

Thank you in advance

2-3 months for EAD to be approved. 2 being on the very short end of it, most seem to get it around 3 months.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

By ''State ID'' you mean her I-94? Depending in which state you live, if she has a foreign driver's license, a SSN and proof of residence (her name on utility bills or car insurance work), she could get her driver license. Check out your local MVD office for your state's requirements. If she has not applied for her SSN yet and she has less than 14 days lefts on her I-94 she will have to wait for her EAD or Green Card to get one.

US citizen since April 2016

ROC completed April 2014

AOS from K1 completed February 2012

No i think the OP means ACTUAL State ID. They're able to get it with a valid I-94 but it expires with the I-94.

I don't know any state that will give a licence with expired documents. Once the EAD or GC is received sure, but not before.

Hi,

I got my licence with expired I-94, and without a E.A.D. or Green card. I live in Colorado. I took my test and had to wait for the uscis to give the DMV permission to allow me to take it. It varies from state to state.

I filed for A.O.S & E.A.D. on June 27th and received my E.A.D. card today, so just over 2 months.

Good luck

So you DID have your EAD just not physically. It means USCIS switched you to EAD in the system. Someone else I know did that as well.

Here are your state rules: http://www.sos.state.co.us/CCR/Rule.do?deptID=19&deptName=200%20Department%20of%20Revenue&agencyID=76&agencyName=204%20Division%20of%20Motor%20Vehicles&ccrDocID=2913&ccrDocName=1%20CCR%20204-13%20RULES%20FOR%20PROOF%20OF%20IDENTITY,%20AGE,%20AND%20LAWFUL%20PRESENCE%20IN%20THE%20APPLICATION%20FOR%20DRIVER%27S%20LICENSE%20OR%20IDENTIFICATION%20CARD&subDocID=41992&subDocName=2.0%20%20Proof%20of%20Identity,%20Age,%20and%20Lawful%20Presence%20[Eff.%2003/02/2009]&version=12 you'll see it actually mentions "SAVE" which is the USCIS system as a valid method to prove your status. You said you needed to wait for USCIS approval, that's what that approval was.

How long after your got your licence did your EAD arrive?

When I took my written drivers test (July 14th) I was given a case number for the SAVE as you said, I had to wait until August 9th after I received proof from the SAVE department. Then it took from August 9th to today to get my E.A.D. even though on the USCIS it states Post Decision Activity and not Card/Document Production.
