What is being sought here? Your information at the left side of your post says K3 visa but you posted this in the US Citizenship forum.

For my affidavit of support, I will not be sending in any bank statements.

How about a copy of our check made out to the Department of Homeland security for 680 bucks from our joint checking account, that proves we have a joint checking account. And copies of our 1099's with both our names on it from our savings account and CD bank also with both our names on it also proving these are joint accounts.

As far as we were concerned, that is all they needed to know that we have three joint bank accounts. And as far as my wife's IO being so concerned about whether we were sharing our wealth together, she had no further questions on this subject.

We sent two copies - 1 copy dated when we got married and one copy was the most recent. Both show the same account number on them and both statements have our names on them. To me - that is enough.

If you intend to send bank statements with your N-400, you have not read the guides, at least not carefully, which is always a bad thing.

Nothing but tax transcripts are required in order to document that you are still married to your U.S. citizen spouse.

I sent 3 recent months. When the IO went through all the supporting docs I included in my N-400, she asked me if I have full access to the joint account.

Agreed - that was my thinking as well - as long as you establish you have same account at the beginning and the end of the 3 yrs - no need to go crazy and send every month - they get the idea.

I only photocopied the first page - they don't really care about every transaction...in the names on the account are what's important

Nothing but tax transcripts are required in order to document that you are still married to your U.S. citizen spouse.

You must be referring to this:

"If you are applying for naturalization on the basis of marriage to a U.S. citizen, send the following 4 items:

1. Evidence that your spouse has been a U.S. citizen for the last 3 years:

a. Birth certificate (if your spouse never lost citizenship since birth); or

b. Certificate of Naturalization; or

c. Certificate of Citizenship; or

d. The inside of the front cover and signature page of your spouse’s current U.S. passport; or

e. Form FS-240, Report of Birth Abroad of a Citizen of the United States of America; and

2. Your current marriage certificate; and

3. Proof of termination of all prior marriages of your spouse (divorce decree(s), annulment(s), or death certificate(s)); and

4. Documents referring to you and your spouse:

a. Tax returns, bank accounts, leases, mortgages, or birth certificates of children; or

b. Internal Revenue Service (IRS)-certified copies of the income tax forms that you both filed for the past 3 years; or

c. An IRS tax return transcript for the last 3 years."

Read one way, only need one bank statement in lieu of your tax returns. And if you can count, certainly a lot more than four items. Your IO, his/her supervisor, and field office manager can request any form of evidence they deem necessary, where does it say bring in your state ID or a worthless joint utility bill? And if your spouse has other than a place of birth in the USA, can also request to see the naturalization certificate, or if not, the birth certificate as well, etc., etc., etc.

We had much better experience with this for the five year only:

"All applicants must send the following 3 items with their N-400 application:

1. A photocopy of both sides of your Permanent Resident Card (formerly known as the Alien Registration Card or “Green Card”).

If you have lost the card, submit a photocopy of the receipt of your Form I-90, Application to Replace Permanent Resident

Card; and

2. 2 identical color photographs, with your name and Alien Registration Number (A-Number) written lightly in pencil on the back

of each photo. For details about the photo requirements, see Part 5 of Form M-476, A Guide to Naturalization, and the Form

N-400, Application for Naturalization instructions. If your religion requires you to wear a head covering, your facial features

must still be exposed in the photo for purposes of identification; and

3. A check or money order for the application fee and the biometrics services fee for fingerprinting, as stated in the M-479,

Current Naturalization Fees, enclosure in the Guide. (Applicants 75 years of age or older are exempted from fingerprinting and

the biometrics services fee). Write your A-Number on the back of the check or money order."

Included tax returns, but didn't want to even see those. But no mention about paying a parking ticket twenty years ago, not even the country where you received that parking ticket. That can cause excessive delays.

Just saying, you don't know what they are going to ask, if you want to risk making return trips with extensive delays, just bring everything in.

That's what we sent for my husband's application. It showed both our names on the account and the date as proof that we were still married and living together at the same address since his citizenship was based on being married to me for at least three years.

Still a poor form of evidence in my opinion, we have more banks in town than bars. A lot of competition, can take 50 bucks and open a joint account, maybe even less than that. And they don't car if you are married or not, just want your 50 bucks.

Now a joint health insurance policy is really positive evidence, there, really scrutinized that you are related as is auto insurance. But don't tell that to the USCIS, just smile and say, here it is.
