UGHHH!!! I wish I never saw this estimated VISA timeline. We are over a month past VJ's estimation and I see a lot of folks getting approved that filed weeks after us. I tried calling the USCIS, but I was told it hasn't been 5 months so there is nothing they will do to look into it. I am not sure if it is because of a problem with our application, if it was because they had Aley's country mistyped on the NOA1, or if it is simply sitting under a pile of paperwork and is being overlooked. Our anxiety is growing with each day. To be honest, it was probably the wrong time to quit smoking, LOL!!!

Any suggestions out there? (Besides having a cigarette) ;)

hi,

Sorry for the long wait that's the crazy thing about this process is that everyones process is different but i do understand your worries. Have you tried talking to a tier 2 rep? just ask to talk to one they have to let you speak to one, they can really look at the application and also if you have any concerns about your app at USCIS just give your congressman a call cause they can go on your behalf and see what's going on. But yes the 5 weeks thing is normal but if you want to you can do all of the above. Hang in there of the smoke breaks yet. blush.gifgood.gif

There is nothing wrong with your case other than the millions USCIS deals with every year. Everyone goes thru this. It like a Hitchcock movie. The unknown creates fear & anxiety. You just have to sit back & let it happen. V J represnts only a fraction of the total cases but we found the timelines to be pretty accurate overall.

Maybe have a drink too. You are just barely past 3 months. I know it is tough to be patient, but keep in mind that the VJ estimates are based on only those people who are part of the forum and have posted their timeline information. It really isn't a good indicator of how long it will take. Some people get lucky and move quickly while others get held up. Mark a date on the calendar for 5 months and 1 day. Put an alert on your computer to go off that day and as best you can try to forget about it until that time. Easier said than done, but We could have driven ourselves crazy by watching the timelines every day hoping for something new.

It is a long slow process Hang in there.

Try chewing tobacco. Sorry but sometimes a joke helps.

The timelines will drive you crazy if you let them. They did me. Use them as a frame of reference but not as hard fact. We were number 153 on Igor's list when we got our NOA2. I think the numbers get thrown off sometimes by people not completing a timeline and some cases just move faster than others. If there is a problem with your petition you'll get an RFE and deal with it if it happens. Keep the faith, find a new hobby, maybe kick-boxing! Get some frustration out.

Good luck!

Thank you both. I know it is just my anxiety and over active imagination with the whole thing. LOL!!! We were both very relaxed a few months back, but as soon as I filed the paperwork, we both started with the anxiety and the anticipation. She has to sell everything in La Paz, I am moving into a 3 bedroom here in the states, I have to buy a bigger vehicle, etc. Hahaha, I am laughing at myself. It's a flash back to Christmas Eve as a child. :)

I know what you mean about the Christmas Eve syndrome. I didn't sleep last night because Jane had her document in-take in Guangzhou and tonight she'll be having her interview. I just might start smoking again!

From experince. 5 Months / plus 30 days is when you can ask for a review from USCIS. (Note: This is not an Expidite) You don't need a Tier 2 Rep for this. They will pull your File and review it. You maynot need this as to you may hear something sooner.

What you would be asking for is called a Service Request from USCIS after 5 months / plus 30 days.
