Ok, question... My fiancee went to the interview and she was missing her police clearance from when she worked over sea's in Lebanon. They told her to turn in the police clearance and they would then process the papers and tell her if she will get her visa or not. She explained why she did not have the police clearance papers... Which she Requested and paid for, they told her it would be 3-6 more months when contacted after the interview... She asked if there was someone she could talk to to have the papers Expedited so that our medical would not expire they told her no and rudely told her to be patient and just pay for the expired papers again.

Any suggestions of what to do? I am contacting a senator for help, but probably won't help at this point..

I think your Visa wasn't denied. It's just the decision is on hold until she presents her police clearance

Agree with PP, you weren't denied, this is just a delay until she gets police clearance. Why did she not have it before? Once it;s all sent in, you can ask for a cancelation appointment- many times, assuming the police cert is clear, they will even just have her send in the passport and send it back, no second interview needed.

Meaningful answers beyond the general information already given would depend on the country and any other potential problems in your case. Either way, you submit the missing documents and wait for them to be processed. You don't need a Senator for this. The police report is a required document. Nobody is going to twist their arms and make them issue the visa without it.

Lebanon keeps pushing back our paperwork. We were suppose to have had it April-May... The issue is starting to become financial due to paperwork expiring. They told us to just pay the processing fees again, and wait for the papers to be processed again... I understand about the police clearance being needed, but I shouldn't have to pay for the process again... Or wait for another sputum test when the first one was just finished less then 2 months prior to having to pay for it again....

Makes no sense..

Since a police certificate is a required document by the USE, by any means, you were supposed to get it before the interview. Now you got the chance to submit it again, so that pay what ever money and get it. Here paying the money should have to be out of question. There is no other way around to get this visa.

Good luck

We had the police clearance from Philippines and had the Lebanon paperwork filed. When I called the US embassy after getting the letter saying to set up the interview they said to set up the interview as stated in the letter... So I did.

Get an extension from the consulate on your approved petition and then go back when you have the required police certificate. Visas are NOT issued if all required documents are not present. The medical is valid for one year, so are any other police certificates (regardless of what the date, if any, says on the certificate)

Note to others:

Be sure you understand ahead of time how long it will take to receive needed documents and allow for that in your preparation

Who would I contact then... Just the U.S. Embassy?

The Consular Immigrant Visa Unit at the applicable Embassy or Consulate.

Hey guys, Question, did you receive your lebanon police clearance after waiting the 3-6 months? How long did it take approximately? I'm just worried it isn't coming and I have no receipt or proof to get it waived.
