US Passport style photos

I've tired a number for photo shops and chemists that do passport photos and no one can help me in getting 2inch x 2 inch passport style photos as required.

Can anyone tell me where I can get these photos taken in Ireland?

Any help much appreciated

Make sure you have all the US specified facial requirements.

Save the pics to a USB stick and take it to a photo printing machine (tesco, boots, most photograph printing stores have them).

Well I have this problem in reverse. I need passport photos for a Irish passport but can't the right size here in the states. Tried Sears , wolf camera and others but still had them return any suggestions ? Where to get a passport photo for Irish passport. ????

I recently had an analogous problem - trying to get Canadian-spec passport photos in the US.

Walgreen's photo kiosk computers have sizing profiles for a large number of different countries [ireland might be in there, I don't know], so they can [probably] frame the photos properly and get the head the right size, but they can only cut to 2"x2", and Canada needs a different size. The kiosk prints out the two photos separately, side-by-side on a single piece of photo paper, and they have a little die-cutter that automatically cuts them out properly for American specs [but not, obviously, for any other country's specifications].

So I brought the specs to the store, had them take the photos and size them properly, went over the specs with a fine-toothed comb with them to make sure everything else was good, but left them uncut. Then I later cut the photos myself on a paper cutter at work, to get them to the right size.

That worked. The photos were accepted by Canada and I have my new passport. Someone else in the Canadian forum had said that was the first time they had heard of Walgreens photos being accepted by Passport Canada, but I suspect most of the others were sending in 2"x2" photos, which is contrary to Canada's spec.

If Walgreen's have the Ireland spec in their kiosk, you should be able to do the same thing - just bring a printout of the Ireland specs with you and make very sure the photos are perfect in every other way before you leave.

The standard of 2 x 2 is equivelent to the 51 mm x 51 mm offered in most countries and US immigrations and the consulate will take either size. 51 mm is .2 of a mm larger than 2 inches. we're talking a hair. Just get a standard passport sized photo as is offered in the photo shops in your country and it will work.

If this is to go with the G-325A then don't worry about it. USCIS is not particular about the photos submitted. They just want a good quality photo of the beneficiary's face that they can scan into the file. The pics I submitted for my fiancee (now my wife) were made to Vietnamese passport specs - approximately 1.5" x 2.5" on a pale blue background. The height of the face was approximately correct. They were accepted without any problems.

This doesn't mean you can get completely out of hand and submit a vacation pic that's 4" x 6", the head is 1/2" from chin to top, turned 45 degrees, with a souvenir shop in the background. Use a little common sense.

Passport Canada wants 50mm x 70mm, with the face between 31 and 36 mm from top to bottom, with a reasonable gap between the top of the head and the top edge of the paper. WAY different framing from the US specs. It took the Walgreen's clerk 3 tries to take the photo framed so there was enough space around my head to size it with the Canadian profile in the computer, whereas with US-spec'd photos they can do this in their sleep.

i believe the only difference is in the width of the photo (all facial dimensions are the same) correct?? but are the photos required for the medical and interview in london US or UK style??

so i just found this http://travel.state.gov/visa/visaphotoreq/digitalimagereq/digitalimagereq_5327.html and if you scroll down there is a photo tool to select a digital image stored on your computer, resize and rotate it if necessary. crop it to a square image of exactly 600 x 600 pixels, and save it to your computer for printing.

my solution though was to go to a professional photographer who has made me 2 UK photos, 4 US photos, and put 1 on a flash drive so i can email it to my fiancée in America if needed

Today, I used a Kodak kiosk in Boots and I could print US sized photos. I had the choice of eight Irish passport-size or six 2" x 2" on one piece of photographic paper. Select ID photos and then choose your desired size.
