OKAY LAST QUESTION BEFORE I SUBMIT MY I-130 APP!!!

Is it necessary to submit a written story about our relationship together? (I.E. How we met; what attracted me to her; what our plans our; etc.)

I remember reading that this would be required for a K-1 visa, but I'm not sure if this is necessary for the CR1.

Based on what I've read here on VJ, it's not necessary. However, I included a 1-page letter describing how we met years ago, how we reconnected after 2 decades, etc. Basically, I wanted to cover my bases and avoid RFE and further delays as much as possible, by front loading bonafide evidences of our petition. Currently, we are at the NVC stage (see below).

03/16/11 - Package delivered - signed by S. BUSH 9:17AM

03/21/11 - Able to view case status on USCIS.gov

03/22/11 - $420.00 check cleared bank

You are thinking of an Evolution of Relationship letter (EOR). If you think it would be helpful for your file, include it, otherwise, it's not a requirement.

For some embassies/consulates this is very important. Others, not so much. If you think that it can help to give a framework to your evidence, go ahead. It should be something that shows the evolution of your relationship. This isn't time to dust off the term paper skills. Bullet points or several paragraphs.

Also, do some reading in the regional forum to see what couple going through CDJ are experiencing.

I wish i would've known of this website before i submitted my I-130 for my husband...

I submitted my I-130 with the help of an "immigration expert" who did not mention anything about including evidence of our relationship. He said all of that information would be required further along..now i'm super worried that i am going to get a RFE. -( My husband is in Mexico and i'm applying for his visa from california. Is there any way i can send the evidence of our relationship before I get a RFE? i am super worried that my case will be delayed...if anyone has any advice please let me know!!!

No, if you tried to send anything unsolicited at this time to USCIS, it would not get matched with your file.

i am super worried that my case will be delayed...if anyone has any advice please let me know!!!

If all the required documents were submitted with the paperwork, then an RFE is unlikely.

If you want to submit relationship evidence when your file reaches the NVC along with the DS-230 package, you can. However, be aware that doing so at that point will likely slow down processing of your file at the NVC.

Regardless of whether or not you submit that extra evidence to the NVC, have your husband bring all of it to his interview.

CDJ is easy, but you must follow their procedures EXACTLY--nothing extra, nothing left out. They are the busiest consulate in the world, so everything is streamlined to get through it quickly.

A story isn't on their list, so forget it.

My husband submitted a spousal affidavit with a short timeline of our relationship. and it was notarized... Still waiting for NOA2 anyway... July 6 was our NOA1... I think there's nothing wrong in sending documents that will help establish the on-going relationship... GOD bless...
