Hello,

My wife and I are about to submit our cr-1 petition in a few days. We are submitting 12 pics and four fit on a page of paper. The question is should we cut the pics out and wirte on the back as to the people in the pics or not cut them out and write on the border of the paper. Thank you.

Hello,

I figured it's easier to read who is in the pic when you don't have to flip it around a lot and not have to fiddle with 12 pics everywhere. I don't have to worry about the time the pic was taken the camera I bought time stamped all the pics for us. Thank you.

Hello,

leave the pics as printed and write a brief description on the border underneath each if possible. I think to cut them out and write on the back of each would be a waste of your time as the odds of them turning each over to look are slim and also the likelihood of losing loose pictures is very high. We had regular pictures but I still taped them to copy paper to make it more organized.

Good luck to you!

I was told by another VJ Member not to print the names on the back of the photo, but rather to write them in with a felt pen.

Guess that's what I'm doing.

didn't write anything on the back of the marraige photos - bought a thicker sheet and stapled a ziplog bag to it and placed the 10 photos in the ziplag.

wrote the names at the back of passport photos only with a felt pen - stapled a smaller ziplag (get in hobby lobby) to another thick sheet and put mine in one (wife's to another thick sheet). The whole packet is put together using a nice clip and mailed. USPS overnight is best, as it gets to the USCIS postbox directly.

So apart from your passport-style photos - the other 10 photos you supplied as bona fide evidence of you two were not labeled at all? This makes me think I can just print out a sticker label and paste it on the back of my 10 photos... I'm just stressin' this detail because of authentication legitimacy - and the fact that on a few photos, I have to list over 15 names!!

Yes, I just send 10 marraige photoes with nothing at the back and am in the NVC process. The I-130 process is all about the US citizen - whether he is a citizen or not and whether his back ground is alright and basic information about the marraige - like copy of marraige certificate and/or copies affidavits from relatives and friends, ....

It is the US consulate in the foreign country that will bother about the genuinity of the marraige - will ask questions; check the marraige, honeymoon, reception photos/ albums; any mix in the financial matters like joint accounts, joint lease,....; and details of continuing relationship like emails, chats, trips to foreign country....

And you will be required to send the beneficiary's original or certified Birth certificate and Original or certified marraige certificate, Original Police clearance certificte/s at the actual visa application (DS-230) after your I-130 petition is approved at USCIS (takes around 90 days) and sent to NVC for further processing.

You can also write something you like back of the marraige photos - it shouldn't hurt at all. Bottom line is don't panic - read others experiences in the forum, which helps.

DON'T SEND ORIGINAL PHOTOS, set up 4-6 on a 8 x 10 sheet and color copy them. Label them between the borders. You don't need to write 15 names

either, just me, her my family ...

All that plastic bag nonsense and flipping through photos is nonsense for the adjudicator. make it easy on him .. writing on the back of photos... makes no sense sticking stickers on them makes no sense. Two 8 x 10 pages of photos' neatly copied with handwritten details should be fine.

Passport photos are exception they are originals.

Brokenfamily, I only wrote what I did and was successful thus far. You certainly have a right express your opinion but don't be rude.

Hello,

This is what I did, I printed 4 digital pictures on one page and numbered them. I then described what the picture was corresponding to the number. I also included a date and timestamp on the the pictures.

Hi, Im an I-130 July filer and I did not include in our I-130 package the photos as evidenced of our bonafide marriage. Will I be RFE'd because of I did not include photos? I only sent marriage certificates and the birth certificate of our son as an evidence of our bonafide marriage.

Unlikely you will receive an RFE. However, if you want to guarantee that those pictures will be looked it by a CO, you can include them with the DS-230 package once your file reaches the NVC. Keep in mind that if you were to do this, the process at the NVC will likely slow where it otherwise would not have. I mention this as an available course of action because I'm an advocate of frontloading.

Those pictures can (and should, even if frontloaded) be brought to the interview. The only thing about bringing them to the interview is there is no guarantee they will be asked for by a CO and there is no guarantee they will not be passed right back without so much as a fleeting glance by a CO if trying to pass said photos to a CO without being asked for them.

Your call and your call alone on how you proceed in regards to this.

Thanks Ryan H for the reply. I must admit it was wrong in my part why I didn't include our photos when in fact I have plenty of photos of us together. I do hope that I wont be RFE'd. I hope that the birth certificate of our son & our marriage certificate would suffice as evidence of our bonafide marriage. But i have prepared lots of pictures in time for my interview.

Yes, that is a good stategy. I included copies of my 401K beneficiary nomination - nominating my wife as 100% beneficiary, joint leasef apartment leased recently with wife name in the lease as additional proofs with my DS-230 and sent it yesterday.
